New Openness

Isn't Trevor's "new openness" essentially the same thing as 1984's "big brother", or Farenheit 451's "family"?

Yeah, true "new openness" sounds like it would be something that would be the result of us all suddenly becoming telepathic.

overall, i would say that the creative force behind aeon flux is rather an educated bunch. there are references to a whole bunch of literary beauties. however, i would also say that often each episode reveals that these people (those who write the shows) are pedantic and additionally enjoy twisting, warping, and poking fun at the references to which they allude. this is especially why i enjoy the show. clearly, these writers do not take themselves too seriously.
