Chung feature film project

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

Since Alexander isn't out yet, this may be jumping the gun, but what kind of movie do you think Peter Chung is working on? (He mentioned a live-action movie in his last interview) And what kind of movie would you like to see from him, besides you-know-what? Let me know what you think!

I think The Matrix looked like the barest kernel of a Peter Chung idea... like he mentioned something to the directors, and they tried to run with it. The movie had some nice points, but the scripting was horrible and it had 3x as much plot exposition as was necessary. If Chung was in on it it'd be practically nothing but hallucinogenic fight scenes and cryptic messages.

I believe we talked about it when the movie first came out, but there is a scene in The Matrix that is most likely influenced directly by "The Purge". If you can't think of what I'm talking about, think bellybutton.

Actually, I thought Existenz was much closer to Peter Chung's style.
