greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

That's a start.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), April 08, 2000.

Carlos:

EXACTLY THE POINT-However, it is not just conflict, outside of the little personal scuffles that seem to erupt in a lot of threads, there is healthy conflict, with intelligent arguments from various angles on a lot of subjects.

If you are not just a troll, put your mind to it and start a not-so- boring thread.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 08, 2000.

FS, Oh how quickly we bite. "healthy conflict, with intelligent arguments from various angles on lots of subjects". Name one. Just plain old fighting is all that's left that anyone really enjoys. Want to argue ice sheets melting? That should be real fun.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), April 08, 2000.

Carlos,

Who says ice sheets are melting! You're a LIAR. Crawl back under your BRIDGE you TROLL.

Getting in the spirit,

Frank

"Who says ice sheets are melting!" (sic) Not me.

Considering the mix of personalities here, I'm kinda surprised that things are going so well... <:)=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), April 08, 2000.

Yeah, how would you like it if I started blowing cigar smoke in your face?

-- Prothemeus (<<@@.##), April 08, 2000.

Besides, we've still got Hawk for when things get dull.

-- E.H. Porter (Just Wondering@About.it), April 08, 2000.

Carlos:

If conflict is YOUR only draw for this place, I might suggest you are on the wrong forum? *I* enjoy this place for the diversity of opinion that I can't find elsewhere. I don't confuse diversity of opinion with conflict.

I might also add that I wouldn't have even responded to this thread had I not recognized your name. You've never been a troll before. What's up with this?

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), April 08, 2000.

Sysman,

Why are you so surprised?

You are the one that REALLY surprised me,when the gestapo came out with the bannings you said it was not acceptable to you, but your actions did not correlate.

Back from my little southern jaunt, ready to party.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), April 08, 2000.

capnfun, since you have inexplicably abandoned the limerick form, I will attempt a translation:

capnfun who's returned from his trip
re: this forum's maintaining a grip
Says Sysman's in error
Though denouncing the terror
For his actions amounted to zip

(Note: the above should not be construed as the translator's viewpoint.)

If you've ticked Anita you've gone too far. But still, I kinda know I'm right.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), April 08, 2000.

OK Carlos:

Your ancestors served monkies. Nope; not good enough. Your ancestors were prostitutes for sheep. Nope; not good enough. Okay I will tell the truth [forgive me]; your ancestors voted for Ronnie. At least I heard it that way. What I heard.

Best wishes,,,,

David,

LMFAO!!! Bravo!

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), April 08, 2000.

Z1X... When my cat gets mad she gives the look to remind that there aren't any knuckle walkers on her family tree. She's right.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), April 08, 2000.

Carlos, you said,

""Who says ice sheets are melting!" (sic) Not me. "

I assume you meant the punctuation? Sorry, that was intentional. I meant the emphasis as if shouting the sentance, and generally don't belive in "?!?!" or something like that.

Just thought you'd like to know,

Frank

P.S. You said, "FS, Oh how quickly we bite. "healthy conflict, with intelligent arguments from various angles on lots of subjects"."

Would you care to correct this, or should I? -F

capnfun,

Yea, I did say that I wouldn't post at EZ, because of the Flint and co. issue. But after thinking about it, I deceided that I still do have "friends" over there, that I do enjoy BSing with. What would it prove if I didn't talk with them? Everyone knows how pissed off I was, and still am, about what happened. I can enjoy posting in both places. Flint can't, and that just ain't right.

I am surprised, because I figured that LL would be SPAMing, and we would see the daily crap from Pro. But, except for her usual wackyness, LL has beeen pretty good, and except for Pro's recent post on Dennis, even he hasn't been too bad.

Amazing what can happen, when you let people say what they want...

It may be Christmas Eve in the trenches and the Germans and Allies are croonong Silent Night in English and German (get it, peace and love prevailing...) but Hawk is still a major wanker, and the Pollies were wrong, paranoid, easily led into buying wolf tickets and basically ridiculous.

"except for her usual wackyness"

Oh, this is rich. You broadcast on the internet that you smoke pot, (and illegal substance; right or wrong) and you call me wacky?

Ahhh, well. There was a time I'd do everything I could to see you busted for that, but now I figure we're all just people slightly damaged by our common concern last year. Besides, I'll always be grateful for the time you stuck up for me. (Although, I knew your efforts would be in vain.)

Have a good night, Bruce. Except for Eve, I'd like to see you come back and join the forum more often.

Sysman,

I knew you you were pissed, just as many of us were, you made no bones about it and I applauded you and everyone else that took a stand,as that was THE RIGHT thing to do.

Now maybe I'm way off base here, but I will say it nonetheless.

Alot of people respected what you thought and had to say, as you seemed to carry a good dose of common sense and fairplay into any conversation or conflict. So when you spoke your mind about the bannings and did not follow through, you all but gave your blessing to ed and the sysops for their actions.

Maybe I had you figured wrong, maybe I put you on too high a pedestal, but for some quirky reason I saw things about you that I saw in myself,(except for a shitload of puter experience) similarities on a computer screen albeit but enough to grasp the essence of a persona.

I truly thought that when you saw what was going on and exiled yourself in the name of right vs. wrong a substantial amount of posters would follow suit, driving home the point to ed and the sysops, thus forcing them to be all inclusive.

Don't mean to give you the big head dude and I probably gave you too much weight(in my mind) to carry. But that's the way I saw it.My stupidity.

It might not have mattered anyway, the majority of weak, spineless people on that board would dare not do anything to upset poor ed.The thing about them though is that they will sit and wave THE FLAG for Truth,Justice and The American Way and cannot grasp a simple concept such as free speech.

At this point it ain't about a friggin' BBS it's about something greater,it's about courage (very simple courage) to stand up for what is right and fight the wrong,it's about core beliefs of wich there is apparently none. For a group of people to pride themselves on honesty(ie the .gov's lack of) truth, doing the right thing(disclosure) it is a sad display.

I used to think I was one of them, well THANK GOD that is not the case, because I have too much character to ever let myself sink that low.Iv'e said it before and I'll say it again,I might not have the knowledge or degrees that most on either boards possess but BYGOD at least I know right from wrong and wrong from right.

Some will say it's eds board,he can do with it as he likes and I agree,I'll also agree ed ain't no kind of American I would trust If I were in trouble, just another yellow coward, who wouldn't have been worth a shit if Y2K hadda been bad.

No hard feelings Sysman, like I said before ;I'm just a fuckin' nobody,a nobody driven by principle and not a desire to see my wishy-washy friends.

The beautiful thing is you can stop by anytime and chit-chat with us anytime, youre allways welcome, justa shame it's not a two way street.

Consumer,

Tooooooo many White Russians? didn't know there was such a thing!!!LOL

Laura,

A little attitude adjustment never hurt nobody ;) And I'm glad you never went after Sysman for his Rastafarian beliefs, cause me thinks I might be of that religous nature as well ;)))

BTW Laura,Hope your time away did you as well as moi

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), April 11, 2000.

Hey,

Its been fun, but I've had enough of being 'read' by the likes of hawk, and have others jumping down my throat cuz of it.

Gonna take a break.....

Been fun, those who 'know me' take care...

-- consumer (shh@aol.com), April 11, 2000.

consumer, too bad you feel that way. I think most everyone ignore Hawk's delusioned foul comments about anyone else. He's slumped lower than the lowest troll on here now IMO, and LL with all of her past reputation made it way up past him.

If you simply ignored Hawk he'd go away from your mind. I mean really ignore him, like don't reply to him EVER.

Practice your contempt consumer. I have contempt for Hawk, so he doesn't exist for me anymore than an annoying fly on the wall. I don't argue with or fight with flies.
