Title: Cargo Ships Collide at Entrance of Bosporus

Two cargo ships collided early Saturday at the mouth of Istanbul's Bosporus Strait, leaving one of the ships stranded and leaking. No casualties or injuries were reported.

A Lebanese-registered ship, Poylak, collided into a Turkish minerals-bearing cargo when leaving the Bosporus for the Black Sea, the Anatolia news agency said. Authorities were investigating why the ships collided.

The Poylak was traveling with an empty hull from Greece to Ukraine.

The Turkish ship was left tilted on its side and leaking, but its crew was able to stop the leak and prevent the ship from sinking, Anatolia said.

It was unclear when the crew would be evacuated.

Over the past decade, there have been hundreds of accidents in the strait, which cuts through this city of 12 million people.
