"* Leonardo DA Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time."

"* Leonardo DA Vinci invented scissors. Also, it took him 10 years to paint Mona Lisa's lips. "

Did he invent the right-handed scissors, or the left-handed scissors? What did he do with his other hand while he spent 10 years painting Mona Lisa's lips?

Nice list. Thanks.

My humble contribution:

The word "verdict" comes from the Latin for "true" - verus, and "saying" - dictum. Hence "verdict" means "true saying."

The word "very" also derives from "verus." Thus, "That is very big" means "It is true that that is big."

You had me going for like 3 seconds...ok 4. =)

-- cin (cinlooo@aol.corn), April 07, 2000.

cin, Where did you get these "facts"? I've seen lists like these all over the internet, and most of them are questionble, i.e., don't count on them being 100% facts.

I'll start the debunking of this list: 1. duck's quack doesn't echo - yeah, right. Put a duck in an empty room and then tell me that nonsense...;)

2. Da Vince invented scissors? Don't think so! I believe scissors were around many centuries before him! I have read many articles about him, and never saw THIS claim in a reputable source. I'll be needing more than an internet listing to buy this one...

I will do more later, this could be fun....

-- FactFinder (FactFinder@bzn.com), April 07, 2000.

*Astronauts are not allowed to eat beans before they go into space because passing wind in a spacesuit damages them.

I'm throwing the BS flag on this one as well. I've seen references in books by Astronauts that indicates they often ate what they wanted on the last meals before a flight. Will be back for more later, lol.

-- FactFinder (FactFinder@bzn.com), April 07, 2000.

Factfinder...go find some quicksand and tell us if you can float. LOLOL =)
