How to email jpeg's to AOL MAC users

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I've tried to send dozens of pics to my sister's MAC through her AOL mailbox, however all she ever sees is the giberish from the raw file and no picture.

I know PC's well, but not AOL or MACs

Any ideas out there?

Thanks!

I am also not familiar with MAC's, but I can tell you how AOL functions with images in the Win OS. When you send multiple images to an AOL account, AOL compresses them into a single file with a .mim extension. The MIME file needs to be unzipped with a program such as WinZip.

On a MAC, that may be a .sit extension. Maybe someone with MAC experience can confirm this.

Try downloading a copy of Stuffit Expander. It should unzip the compressed file. Also, try sending one photo at a time. I have to do this for any I send to an AOL account, whether it's pc or mac. Good luck.
