School Violence--the American Way of Life by Thomas Fleming A six year old boy in Michigan shoots a schoolmate in anger, and all the world expresses shock, outrage, disbelief. Its guns, says the President and his courtiers. We need more foster-parenting and counseling, says the social work lobby. Dont be alarmed, say the conservatives, school violence is not really on the increase. Im surprised they dont all gag on their own hypocrisy. The President and his party have spent the last 50 years and more, creating the welfare-dependent class that has turned Americas urban centers into a living hell. We didnt need Charles Murray or any other expert to tell us what we already knew: Welfare causes poverty, illegitimacy, crime, and violence. Idle hands are the devils workshop is an ancient saying of vastly greater importance than any set of social statistics. Irresponsible aristocracies, with too much time and money on their hands, have always been known for sexual profligacy and vice. Why should we be surprised, that when simple people are treated like aristocrats, they live as badly as Princess Di or the Duke of B. In most cases, the inner-city poor are even more vicious than the British Royal family, which has an educational background (of sorts) and a certain residuum of tradition to fall back on. Disarming the urban poor strikes even conservative Republicans as a good idea, a technical fix to a moral problem, but it will never, can never work. Over the years, welfare has been turned into extortion, as the powers-that-be became genuinely afraid of the nightmare they had deliberately created. It is too late. Urban gang-bangers, like the 19-year old whose gun was used in Michigan or like the boys father doing time, are not going to surrender peacefully, and there is no national will to use force. Stalemate or rather check mate. The counselors lick their chops every time there is a celebrity massacre--it is meat and drink to them. Even if they wanted to--which they most assuredly do not--they could do nothing useful to stem the tide of violence. In fact it is the therapeutic mentality which has sapped the American people of all its moral vitality and helped to render them incapable of solving any of their own problems. Take a pill, have a session, go through the 12 steps--do anything but accept responsibility for your actions. Youre not evil, son, youre just sick, disturbed, deprived. Lets not be hasty, say the conservative Pollyannas, This is only a temporary situation, a slippery stepping stone on the way to the nirvana of equal opportunity for all and global market integration. All we need to do is to provide more jobs, more school choice plans, more Michael Jordans who can serve as role models for minority youth. Although Newt Gingrich and Jack Kemp have been driven in disgrace from the political scene, their childish fantasies have penetrated the squalid imaginations of the Bush and McCain campaign staffs. Let us try to be honest with ourselves for a change. I am speaking to people over 45, people who remember an America where boys could bring knives to school and play mumbledy-peg at recess, when parents could send their children downtown on the subway without exposing them to violence or pornography. When I was 12 years old--to say nothing of six, the girls my age were afraid the boys might pull their pig-tails or shoot them with a squirt gun. Now they are treated openly as sex-toys and cannot walk by the boys bathroom without wondering if they will be dragged in. Recently in Rockford, in fact within a few days of the Michigan shooting, first grade boys on a school bus forced a little girl to do unspeakable things, which they had probably heard about on the evening news during the Presidents impeachment proceedings. This is the world we have created. It did not happen accidentally or evolve organically. It is not the inevitable result of modernization or negrification. Feminists and pornographers taught us to despise women as prostitutes or hate them as rivals; therapists eliminated all differences between right and wrong; politicians did nothing to discourage the degradation of the American people lest in discovering virtue they kicked out virtually every member of Congress. In 50 years, not a single political leader has stood up to the feminists, pornographers, therapists, teachers, and journalists who have dragged us into a filth and savagery undreamed of by the most violent and primitive tribes in the Amazon, and in this current discussion of school violence, no one will even speak the truth that every sensible person must know by now, that Bill Clinton is in fact the leader we deserve.

What the heck Edmund, lets give credit where credit is due. LBJ sent this country down the sewer in 1964 with his Great Society programs, which were nothing more than payment for support from the black leaders of the time. Of course there have been other wonderful side effects from this legislation but the welfare society that has been created will be the destruction of this great country of ours. Sounds racist and bigoted but the truth is rarely politically correct.
