V 4 VETS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : New England Motocross Racing : One Thread

If you renew your number before deadline you are not supposed to have your number altered, so what is up with this stupid "v" after your #? Just because I ride a vet class I am still an expert because I earned my points just like a younger rider. I shouldn't be classified as a vet in all classes because I am over a certain age.

I DUNNO BOUT THAT CUZ PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT I HAVE TO HAVE A "Y" AFTER MY NUMBER , BUT MY NESC CARD DOESNT SAY 520Y IT ONLY SAYS 520 MY FRIEND HAS HER CARD AND IT HAS A "Y" AFTER HER NUMBER SO DOES THAT MEAN I STILL HAVE TO PUT A "Y" ON MY BIKE ????????????????

The rule book says if you are in a youth class you will have a Y after your number and a V for vet riders. Page 24, NP-8

if this is so, why does all 35+ riders and older have to have a "V" but if you are only a 30+ vet rider you do not HAVE to use a "V." This was told to us on Sunday, April 2, 2000 at Southwick, by Bonnie Mikalson. We checked our rule book, that we are constantly told to read, and it states, "A small 3 inch "Y or V" will be put on a rider's number plate and jersey with their assigned NESC number. (85, 125 youth & Vet riders) I don't see a clause in this that states if you are a 30+ Vet rider, then you do not have to wear a "V" but I assume that they will now alter the rule book.
