Flint has a Real problem.....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Come on Flint, what part of the post did you think was a lie?

Strange that anyone on this forum would describe a speech by a politician as being the TRUTH. Sure, you may agree with him (hell, so do I), but speeches by politicians tend to be, uh, less than paragons of the pure truth. I guess nothing is more reasonable than a shared prejudice, but let's be honest with ourselves about this.

Or were you just kicking at another Ant Hill ? :-)

Answers

Hmmm....now we have Netghost doing exactly the same thing that Mr. Sane was accused of doing to Hawk.

Flint's point seemed pretty simple to me. He never said anything in the post was a lie. He said that, generally, most people here rightly take a politician's statments with a grain of salt unless he happend to agree with an idea we share. It's easy to assume truth if it's an idea we agree with regardless of the source and Flint was pointing out that that's as intellectually dishonest as attacking the source rather than the idea.

What got you so riled up over this?

-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), March 29, 2000.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, Flint is a contrarian. That in and of itself is not a bad thing, in fact it does tend to prompt one to question one's own assumptions about what one believes, and why one believes so.

It's a good thing, albeit irratating at times.

Anyone here who has never kicked an anthill for the sheer joy of watching the ants scurry about the mound, would you please stand up.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 29, 2000.

Flint was again kicking at anothers ant hill... or sitting on both sides of the fence.

He on one hand supports the right to bear arms, yet he calls an honest politicians call to that constitusional right to bear arms, an implyed lie to further that politicians own goals.

But we all know, according to Flint, all politicians are liers anyway.... get to the real point :-)

-- Netghost (ng@no.yr), March 29, 2000.

Unc,

Maybe I'm wierd, but I don't kick at Ant Hills.... I might pour boiling water on them to kill them... but I will never "play" with them just to see how they will react... just me :-)

-- Netghost (ng@no.yr), March 29, 2000.

Have you ever painted their backs with flourescent paint just to watch them be shunned and exiled by the rest of the colony.

Better to buy them a beer and watch them cavort in a drunken orgy ; )

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), March 29, 2000.

LOL.... I've heard that if you paint a monkey Pink, and thro it in the Pack..... It's dead meat.... What's your point?

-- Netghost (ng@no.yr), March 29, 2000.

Netghost,

Ants and their hills were in conversation and it brought back old memories,it was funny that only the ones painted pink were physically accosted, the yellow, blue and green were simply run out of Dodge.

Tequilla on the other hand--Katie bar the door ; )

And then there are the ones only showing Grey..... like Flint :-)

Uncle Deedah...I have never done anything to an anthill. How do I start?

-- helen (home@the.farm), March 29, 2000.

Netghost:

Flint has a REAL problem versus um...a VIRTUAL problem? It seems to ME that any forum is going to have a mix of opinions, styles, personalities, etc. It's YOUR choice to read and respond to the posts. In contrast to reading and responding to Flint on the thread in question, however, you decided to start a separate thread to WHAT? rally support for YOUR opinion of Flint?

-- Anita (notgiving@anymore.thingee), March 29, 2000.

Anita:

You said:

In contrast to reading and responding to Flint on the thread in question

Which thread was it. I'm still trying to match NG's comments to Flint's statements on what is my best guess of the thread being discussed.

Best wishes,,,,

Oxymoron alert? In red yet? now this is getting personal..

-- Normally (Oxsys@aol.com), March 29, 2000.

Netghost, must you always obsess about someone? I see you have moved on from LL to Me to Flint. I guess the cyber-haunting business must be slow right now. =)

-- cin (cinlooo@aol.corn), March 29, 2000.

cin go fuck yourself :-)

-- Netghost (ng@no.yr), March 29, 2000.

Amazing. Evidently Netghost genuinely *cannot see* the difference between a fact and an opinion he agrees with. He thinks the people with real problems are those who *can* see the difference.

I'm stunned. I don't know whether this calls for pity or mockery.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), March 29, 2000.

Netghost, you wouldn't happen to be Marsh's significant other, now would you? I remember she was running for some kind of office last year, and she lives in your area. Maybe that's why you're so touchy about politicians?

Apologize to Flint.

-- (I know@I .know), March 29, 2000.

While you're at it, you need to apologize to cin and LL too.

-- (I know@I.know), March 29, 2000.

Z:

I was as confused as you on this one. It just popped up again, however, and I see this thread as the one in which Netghost disagrees.

Flint says something of which Netghost disagrees

-- Anita (notgiving@anymore.thingee), March 29, 2000.

Anita:

Danke. My guess too, although I fail to see any connection.

Best wishes,,,,

-- cin (cinlooo@aol.corn), March 29, 2000.
