portland stuff

greenspun.com : LUSENET : It's All About Joe 90: The Discussion Board : One Thread

just thought i would pass along what little info i have on the portland show. the roseland grill says they are having fight night in the theater, so the band is probably playing in the bar, thus being a 21+ show. According to KINK ickets are ~1.00 at the door. The show starts at 6 (what is up with that?). my brother is 18 and i plan on somehow getting him into the show anyway. what about you kathy? laurahey? are we going to have to put you all inside some empty equipment cases and smuggle you in?

i'll either leave for portland friday night or saturday, depending on the time of the in store performance. the spokane to portland drive is about 6-7 hours. we're kind of thinking about driving half way friday, and then half way back saturday after the show since it ends so early and the show in spokane starts at 2:30 the next afternoon. well, my brother wants to drive all the way to spokane saturday night (he drove 12 hours from vancouver to spokane with a broken window and a supply of red bull).

i bought a md recorder tonight so i will hopefully figure it out in time to record the portland and spokane shows. i will also be taking my camera. even thinking of doing some black and white to avoid the scary red pictures that i got last time.

because i was bored (and curious) i called the roseland grill to see if i could find anything out. the guy who answered insisted that there is no one named joe playing on saturday. lol. but we did finally establish that there is a band called the beatles scheduled to play. along with a couple other bands. when i asked if it was 21+ he claimed he had no way to find that out. (um, hello! do you work there?)

he gave me a number for the place that he said was selling the tickets (fasttix?? something like that). 2 people there insisted that there is no show at the roseland grill that night. and that the ad in the newspaper advertising it was a joke put in for april fool's day. but they did say that if there were a show in the roseland grill, it would definitely be 21+.

i have a very large headache now. oh well. at least the guy at the roseland grill knows they're having a show. even if he doesn't know anything else about it.

good luck to everyone planning on being there. i hope you all manage to get in. and have lots of fun.

thanks for trying, kristin and kelly! i did too, i called the kink station last night and asked if it was all ages and the guy told me that was a good question and he didnt know and to call the office tomorrow. so i just did that and they said they didnt know yet and to call again tomorrow or thursday. they also had the tom green show as their hold music... umm ok.

i will find a way to infilrate that damn bar no matter what :) it would just be a lot easier and more convenient if it actually is an all ages show.

on a totally unrelated note.....wasnt that btm2 thing on VH1 impressive? i didn't think it would be that good, being only a 1/2 hour and all....but it was very well done. i give it 4 stars.

i just had instant cappucino. i think it was the catalyst for sleep. im tired. sleepy.

i have my college interview next wed. eek. save me. or at least think of me at 2pm. thats gotta be worth somethin'. im very scared.

if anyone needs any Joe90 venue info, check out digitalcity.com..... it has LOTS of info about clubs and bars in any major city in the US. and its a fun website to just surf around on, lots of cool info.

Ok, this is totally unrelated to Joe 90..but since you brought up Digital City, I thought i would share. If you happen to find yourself surfing around their site go to the Atlanta section. They hired me to do some pictures last year for their site. Any photos you see of clubs, hotels, or any other attractions were taken by me!! I dont know how many are still up...but i am very proud of them!! Ok...back to joe 90 news... I was chatting with a guy at work and we started talking about music. He told me that he was in a band and then of course i had to bring up CC and Joe 90. Turns out he knew all about both of them....i thought it was very cool. erica

Don't use protection. You should use the joe90 love to procreate new joe90fanpeople. Besides, Bambi used protection and God knows where *she* is.

ack! i have lots of homework to do.

joe90content: I listened to Drive five times today--on the way to school, Target, and Best Buy. And November bombs...what a great CD.

At Target and Best Buy I was looking for stereos: I have this crappy one with a bunch of speakers hooked up to it. I wanna save up and buy a muchoexpensive one, but money burns a hole in my pocket. I always just go pick up a CD. So I must save up money at all odds; there may not even be very much for my Chicago trip (Chrisnotseefried, whats the deal there? its in a week from tomorrow! holy crap!). I have decided to go ahead and get a kickass stereo that is nice, so i can hang on to it for a long time. So we are talking Aiwa if at all possible. They are more expensive than Sony but much much better.

Ack again! I think I am becoming an audiophile! As if I don't have better things to spend what little money I have on!

Ok, gotta write a paper and study for a big-ass chemistry test, about which I know nothing! And I think I will run out to the car and grab Dream This!

omg! dalton is staying around the corner from my apartment!!!

dalton, you dork! i wrote you last about it, and you never wrote back. (does everyone see how he is trying to publicly ruin my good name?)

you need to send me your schedule, and then we both need to hope you won't be here the whole time i'm going to the indiana show. hey! ya wanna ditch your thingy and come with me? that would be so cool :)

do it! do it! ya know you want to!!!

i'm on my way home.......i'll catch up with you then.

oh - sorry to post personal stuff here, but, well, i just realized it, and i don't want to copy this over, so i'm REALLY REALLY SORRY!!!***

besides, you can all help me peer-pressure dalton into coming to indiana with me!

i missed it. i missed all of the joe90 portland action. instead i was stuck at home, flu-stricken.

actually, today i'm feeling better. i went to a play on campus and then to abrbeque. tonight it our "queer dance" and then a cast party. it should be fun.

anyway, please write me with reviews of the portland shows; and if you have pictures, even better.

sorry i missed it.

joe90 love all around.
