wabash concert

greenspun.com : LUSENET : It's All About Joe 90: The Discussion Board : One Thread

here's what i've found out so far on the wabash concert. outkast (rap group... should be interesting) is headlining. doors open at 7, concert at 8. tickets are $15 and it is all ages (as you'd expect at a college).

they are selling tickets on campus only right now to give the students first chance at getting them. they don't expect to sell out. tickets will go on sale to the rest of the world this thursday, 3/30. they do take credit cards. you can call 765-361-6172 between 1 and 4 est. on thursday to order.

if you try calling that number now, you'll probably get an answering machine (with an outgoing message from october) but they do check the machine and get back to you. or you can also email massillm@wabash.edu with any questions. (hope he doesn't mind me pimping out his email address).

and i think that's about it. :)

Thanks a bunch for the info, kristin! Who else is planning on going? My mom gave me the "we'll see" which usually means "yes". Either way, I'll convince her and remind her how nice the guys were at the Aragon show ;)

I reckon this isn't a general admission thing?

Did I ever mention how much I love the song "Princess, Princess"? *hint hint* ;)

take care everyone, -AJ

ok i lied. that's not it. i meant to mention that wabash college is located in crawfordsville, about 45 miles NW of indianapolis. and if you go to http://www.wabash.edu/info/directions.htm they have directions on how to get there and a list of hotels, etc.

and yes it IS general admission. thanks for reminding me, AJ. i hope i get to see you there. tell you mother she won't get frostbite this time.

ahh no!! General Admission is no good... I'll keep that info from my mom... ever since the frost bite incident she won't even consider going to anything that's general admission.

Maybe if she doesn't let me go I'll have all of you bombard her with e-mails begging her to let me go, lol ;)

Sorry for the multi-post, I'll shut up now.

what is up with me seeing joe 90 when they are: a) opening for other bands and b) playing for really weird bands that have music not even CLOSE to joe 90's? my weird friend adam who has absolutely no taste in music is a fan of outkast. hmmmm.. this is not a good sign. britt started choking when i told her. haha.

soooo... this will be interesting. are any of the band members fans of outkast?

For the love of G_d.... Outkast... I guess I'll have to invite my friend Randy who listens to a lot of rap... Man oh man... What to do... At least I was right in my silent assumption that Wabash College wasn't in Indy... I knew I'd never heard of it and I spent half of my life in or around Indy... I'm so damn good!

Flock to me...

i've had that experience so far too, jessica! but this is even stranger than the buzz poets thing, especially considering that apparently the college people want them there so much that they'll pay airfare... i dont know, it just doesnt really seem like a bunch of male rap fans would be too into joe 90. but maybe they can win them over. opening gigs are good in that situation though, you can leave early. plus even if it is GA, it doesnt really matter.. just go up to the front once you get in and tell whoever's up there that you're just there to see the opening band and could you please stand there just for their set. thats what kris and i did at the buzz poets show, it worked fine. i think it'll be a little warm for frostbite anyway even if you do wait in line :)

does anyone know anything about this portland instore? why does the website never have any info?? ugh.
