Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture? Have you ever wished you were a member of the opposite sex?

Men definately have it easier. I work in a mostly male environment and I see it all the time. I have to jump through hoops to get people to believe something in my field of expertise, yet males never seem to have to.

I've written a couple of entries about the whole - 'In my next life I want to be a man thing' but I can't find the exact entry at the moment.

Overall though - no period cramps, no childbirth, almost guarenteed orgasm - I wouldn't mind trying it for a while!

I think it'd be nice to trade bodies with a guy for day. Though I'm not sure who I'd trust my body to. I'd do everything possible if I were a guy for a day. Run around topless, eat like there was no tomorrow, pee standing up, and probably jerk off, just to try it.

But then there's the thought of a guy in my body. Getting to see breasts whenever he wanted. I'd make sure he had to deal with cramps. And he'd have to look nice that day, makeup, hair, and all. Let's see if I ever get picked on again for taking so long to get ready.

I think it really depends on what situation you are talking about, and what type of person.

I think in general women have teh upper hand in certain types of social situations, men have the upper hand in professional and economic situations. Of course this ignores race and class. My ex would quote me statistics about how I was going to make more money than her, but that was bullshit because I went to one of the worst schools in my state while she grew up in a mansion, the daughter of a powerful politician, in a family that has tons of money and used to own slaves. She goes to one of the best colleges in the country and knows how to network and get powerful jobs.

I know from experience that people are more likely to pick up a woman hitchiker, help out a strange woman, etc. I think this is much more true of younger women than older women. I know friends of mine that are women have a much easier time of taking a few years off after school and bumming around the country than friends of mine who are guys.

Women are also less likely (contrary to popular belief) to be victims of violent crime.

However, women *aren't* taken very seriously in the professional world a lot of times, younger women's sexual needs are rarely taken seriously (how many guys expect a blowjob but can't give good head?), women aren't taught to do a lot of things they should know how to do like basic car repair or basic plumbing.

All in all it's a mixed bag.

I'd love to be a womanle, though, just so I could do more hitchhiking and meeting random people.

Guys have it easier for sure... no periods, no childbirth, no fear of being accousted and raped when walking alone anywhere, easy orgasm, get to pee standing, no menapause, no yearly exams, less likely to have to deal with birth control, etc etc. Not that I mind being a woman, it has its perks too.
