Title: Body of missing helicopter pilot found in central Alberta
RED DEER, Alta. (CP) -- A large-scale search in Alberta ended today with crews finding the body of a missing pilot near the wreckage of his helicopter.
About 30 military pilots and civilian volunteers were flying over central Alberta looking for the small RotorWay Exec 90 helicopter and its pilot, Garry Raymond Clark.
Clark had disappeared Thursday on a 15-minute flight between Red Deer and Innisfail.
His body and the wreckage were finally found about eight kilometres from the Innisfail airport.
Clark, 54, was a father of two from Innisfail, who worked as a consultant in the oil and gas industry.
He was last seen at the Innisfail airport, just south of Red Deer, about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
A qualified airplane pilot, he was training for a helicopter licence.
