Tourney 4 - Once again time to vote for games!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

Yip... it's time again.

A few comments:

ALL votes must be placed on the board in one form or another or IT WILL NOT COUNT!!!

DO NOT REPEAT A GAME THAT'S ALREADY VOTED FOR!!! IT WILL NOT COUNT! We had a problem with that last tournament - and I gave most of you a fair warning of it - but this time I will NOT do that(I'm too busy). Yes, if you find the error, you may change your vote. As a matter of fact, you can change your vote as many times as you need in the time allotted - but they have to be reflected on the board.

Games that have been played in tourneys 1, 2, and 3 are not allowed to be tourney 4.

Finally, I'll need TWO votes from you. This would be a sample ballot:

Vote if we had to use MAME 35 FINAL - pacman, mspacman, super pac-man

Vote if we got to use MAME 36 FINAL - outrun, tekipaki, block hole

No, this is not my vote, I'm just trying to help you out :)

If there's something I missed, please indicate it on the board - thanks :)

Voting ends April 10, 2000 at 2359 GMT. After that time, I will randomize the games, and hopefully we'll come up with games you like :)

Might as well get in here first then...

If using MAME 0.35: Street Fighter Zero (added in MAME 0.35 wasn't it?), Rainbow Islands, Magic Sword.

If using MAME 0.36: Street Fighter II (sf2 romset), Rainbow Islands, MAgic Sword

-- Ian Sutton (suttoni@hotmail.com), March 26, 2000.

I'll go for : 1.WonderBoy 3, 2.Bubble Bobble & 3.Pang

-- Blost (Blost@flashmail.com), March 27, 2000.

My votes are for: Juno First, Do! Run Run, Bagman (all supported by both versions).

If we want 036Final to be used, be sure Mark is going to complile a TG version for it !

PS: To Ian: There's not a list of tournaments games yet (I'm planning to open an "Archive" section, eventually included in the stats), but you can see games played in each tourny using the search page: search for "tx-" in the short name game box, and for "x" in the tournament box, where x is the Tournament number, of course.

Eventually, I'm going to play in one of these things. I just need the right games...=) But, anyway, my two lists:

MAME .35 1. Badlands (yes, I still want this in!) 2. Klax (there's ALWAYS time for Klax) 3. Pang (is this game eligible now? Pang! 3 was in tourney 1...)

MAME .36 1. Badlands (do you see that I want this game in?) 2. Hang-On (only because Mad Gear is ineligible because of brubber) 3. Teki Paki (like you didn't see that one coming)

-- Sports Dude (sportsdude820@hotmail.com), March 28, 2000.

I'd like the following games to be played Championship Super Sprint, Popeye,Arkanoid II mame 0.36 is my vote MadMat

-- Matteo Barbieri (rns_madmat@hotmail.com), March 28, 2000.

SportsDude - let me help you out - I will support Mad Gear in debate - because there's no 50K bonus for not crashing into a car - 5K / car, and I think you get a big fat gooseegg for being chicken! :)

My vote is... MAME 35 - Pnickies, 1943 KAI, WindJammers(look familiar?)

MAME 36 - OutRun, Block Hole, Pnickies

-- Gameboy9 (goldengameboy@yahoo.com), March 28, 2000.

Note 1: Matteo, Super Sprint was in T2. On behalf of GB, I'd like to say "You need an alternate." =) Our rule is that once a game is in a tourney, that particular game or that particular style of game cannot be allowed in the tourney for...um...is it 3 tourneys or 4? Regardless, you'll need a new game. Sorry. =)

Note 2: GB, everyone says Mad Gear is Burnin' Rubber on steroids, and that's why I felt unsure about picking it. =) Then again, maybe the Badlands rule applies here, a blatant copy of another game (in Badlands' case, the Super Sprint series (full circled this post! Yes!)), but different enough to be considered eligible. I actually would rather have Hang-On based on skill, but I would still love to see Mad Gear in the tourney instead.

And in Mad Gear, most of your bonus points are for crushing stuff. So yeah, you've got a majorly valid point. --Sports Dude (Hopefully, Ray Atkinson isn't going to kill us in Mad Gear. =P)

-- Sports Dude (sportsdude820@hotmail.com), March 29, 2000.

Bank Panic, Cosmic Guerilla, Galaxy Wars.

-- AlexLux (Aleksandar.Lukic@ev.co.yu), March 29, 2000.

For either MAME 35 or MAME 36:

Zoo Keeper Guzzler Solar Fox

-- boxster (qmjcd@hotmail.com), March 29, 2000.

Hmmm... after Marble and Tron are there good ones left :) BTW, it's been fun for me watching your tactics/improvement on them.

Ok, Paperboy, Phoenix and Track & Field!?!

Pacmania would be great for m36, but it's requires so damn fast machine.

-- Tommi (tiihoto@hotmail.com), March 30, 2000.

My vote is 1942, tetris, and pacland. They can be played with both versions.

-- Pam Nichols (suzieq@iglou.com), March 30, 2000.

-- phil (plamat@club-internet.fr), April 01, 2000.

-- MadMat (rns_madmat@hotmail.com), April 02, 2000.

MAME 36: Arch Rivals (point difference between teams at end of full game, none of this 'see how many points you can get in 2 minutes' stuff currently on the scoreboard), Asteroids Deluxe, Berzerk

MAME 35: Red Baron, Asteroids Deluxe, Berzerk

-- Jason Dyer (jdyer@u.arizona.edu), April 12, 2000.
