Story Filed: Friday, March 24, 2000 6:30 AM EST

MAR 24, 2000, M2 Communications - With immediate effect, BASF is increasing the prices in Europe for each of the solvents butanol, butyl acetate, butyl glycol and methoxypropanol, which is marketed under the trade name Solvenon PM, by Euro 100 per metric ton.

Additionally, the price in Europe of DEHP (di-2-ethylhexylphthalate), a standard plasticizer sold under the trade name Palatinol AH, will be increased effective April 1, 2000 to Euro 820 per metric ton (DM 1600 per metric ton).

BASF cites the increased cost of raw materials, especially of propylene and ethylene, as the reason for these price adjustments.
