Fuel Spills As Freight Train Derails in eastern OregonNorth Powder, OR, United States 3/21/2000
Hazardous materials crews were deployed to the derailment outside of North Powder to clean up about a thousand gallons of fuel that spilled from one or more derailed cars.
The Union Pacific train originated in Chicago and was bound for Seattle with two crew members on board.
In all 33 flat-bed cars and two locomotives derailed and damaged about a quarter-mile of track.
