LUGANSK, March 21 (Itar-Tass) - Several engineers and technicians from the Barakov Mine of Krasnodon, the Lugansk Region, Ukraine, will be punished for carelessness and irresponsibility,$which brought about an explosion of coal dust at the mine on March 11. The accident resulted in the death of 80 miners. The degree of guilt of a number of senior executives of the mine has been established already, First Deputy Prosecutor of the Lugansk Region, Senior Justice Counselor Anatoly Reva told Tass.

Chief engineer of the Barakov Mine Leonid Kolesnikov, chief mechanic Alexander Bedlovsky and head of the conveyer transport section Alexander Krivoruchenko were accused of gross violation of safety regulations at the explosion-hazardous enterprise, which involved the loss of life. According to Article 220, Part 2 of the Ukrainian Penal Code, this crime is to be punished by imprisonment for a period of up to ten years.
