Always the problem with landscapes: overcast is good light for the stuff on the ground but the sky is typically burnt out and ugly. Looks like you cropped it as tight as you could, though.

My impulse with a 24mm would have been to get closer to the azaleas, a foot away, ten inches, make 'em really Big! But perhaps you tried that too.

I like the overall composition in this one. Three things I would have tryed though; 1. the "horizon" i.e. right before the hill starts is tilting to the right. I would maybe try to straighten it out. 2. Graduated ND filter!! Graduated ND filter!! 3. Now this one is my personal preference, but I would have moved much closer to the blooms on the right. The exposure seems to be great, and some real close up detail of the flowers next to the "wavey grass" would be excellent!

Cool place! I'd definitely wanna head back up for a re-shoot under different lighting conditions, or after a good rain when the air is clearer. The grass and flowers *are* the subject, so I agree that some sort of composition that maximizes that would be the ticket. Maybe shoot with a longer lens to capture one bush and some of the grass next to it. Maybe in the morning when it's all covered with dew.

I really like the foreground in this picture, but IMO, the burnt out, overcast sky ruins it. I think there was a keeper here; a more selective composition would have found it.
