MAR 20, 2000, M2 Communications - A British Airways Concorde supersonic jet was forced to divert to Shannon's Co Claire Airport, Ireland on the evening of 16 March after its number three engine was shut down by the pilot.
The Concorde was en route from New York to London-Heathrow airport when it diverted to Shannon.
While British Airways has confirmed the incident, it has denied that the diversion to Ireland was an emergency landing according to PA News.
