KENKO or SOLIGOR

hi! two weeks ago i was buy a 100-300 4.5-5.6 USM. it's very nice zoom, but i would like to know more about how better to extend the focus. i reading www and decided to buy extender. but: KENKO AF 2x MC7 or SOLIGOR AF 2x C/D7 ? thank you very much for any help. krzysiek

Answers

Any extender will degrade the image quality somewhat. Since this lens is not all that sharp at 300mm, you probably will not be pleased with the results with either of these options. They will also reduce the effective aperture to f:11 and will eliminate autofocus or focus confirmation.

A 1.4X (or 1.5X) would degrade the image a lot less, and cost only one stop of light. Also autofocusing will still work in decent lighting.
