Well, from the sound of that, it looks like he will be starting with the painkillers pretty soon. I was thinking that since in the previews it appears he is not completely capable of working, due to physical/emotional pain, maybe he will feel that he can only keep up with work if he takes more and more painkillers. I realize that, being a doctor, he should know better, but considering his emotional state, I think that this could be possible. A little off the subject, I do hope that Lucy will still be mentioned, mainly by Carter, but also maybe by Carrie or Elizabeth.

Yeah, they should definitely mention her. They shouldn't just forget her like that. Not getting on with their lives wouldn't be realistic, but neither would be forgetting it ever happened.

As much as I know how much Lucy meant to everyone... She does not have to be "mentioned" in every episode to be remembered. Nor does Carter have to be "remorseful" because he feels bad about her last day.

Lucy will be remembered. ER does not have to mention her every week, put up a shrine or even make her memory the focal point of the remaining episodes...

I think the only reason that people would like to hear "Lucy" mentioned in upcoming episodes, is because the whole incident feels that it is unresolved. Does that make any sense? Maybe that is what the writers want. I do believe that they should let Lucy RIP, but for right now I think it needs to be settled. For Carter especially, I think the real reason he is going to have problems is because Lucy. So not mentioning her would be rather rediculous.

judie, no one said that they want lucy "mentioned" in every episode, but lots of ppl need just wouldnt be right it they just swept it under the rug, like they always do on that show! i would like to see her get mentioned.

I thought the next new episode was on March 23rd. Right or wrong?

If someone I worked with was murdered on the job, I think there would be real tension between wanting to talk about it endlessly and needing to just get on with the job at hand. The ER is a busy place; it will be realistic for people to be shown getting on with things. I think if the writers are a tiny bit smart, though, they will give us a glimpse of something--maybe even if it's Paul Sobricki's treatment/imprisonment--something to give the whole thing a realistic closure for the audience.

The next episode is 3/23. I believe the 3/30 episode is being pre-empted and the next new episode will be 4/6.

Given this info, I was referring to the 4/6th episode in the title of the thread. I am not sure what it will take to actually *CLOSE* this issue with the many Lucy fans. But I for one, would like to see this put this rest 3/23.

I think some of us want just a little closure to Lucy's character, most likely in the next episode. I loved Lucy's character, but I understand that they can't stop in the middle of each continuing episode to take a moment in memory of her. But if Carter never mentions how he feels about her death, or if Carrie never gets a little uptight about the fact that a med student was murdered in "her" ER, it will seem as though the only memory anyone there has of this is of the hobbling/emotionally drained Carter on crutches. Yes, eventually, even Carter will have to move on, just as Mark did after his attack. But for a little while longer, it seems appropriate to mention what happened to her.
