Patricia Neill has written probably the best response I've ever seen to Census 2000. Here, for your enjoyment, is her answer to the bureaucrats.

Well worth forwarding to your friends and with the following:

The Constitution authorizes a head count, and it can even be construed that the government can ask you anything it wants. HOWEVER, there is no Constitutional provision requiring YOU to ANSWER any of their intrusive questions, not even your or others' names, sex, and ages, much less "race", incomes, jobs, etc.. If they can see you, they can count you; that's it.

She's right--they didn't ask about CATS!!!! How insulting.
