Kiev, 18th March: The No 3 generating set of the Rivne nuclear power plant was started today at 0400 [0200 gmt] after repairs were completed, UNIAN learnt at the information centre of the Ukrainian State Nuclear Control Administration.

The generating set was stopped a week ago to repair an oil leak in a turbine's bearing and the turbine's control system. The reactor is to be reconnected to the country's energy grid on 20th March. Tuning of the reactor's equipment is being carried out before starting the turbine.

The No 1 generating set of the Rivne nuclear power plant is to be stopped this weekend for lengthy repairs and fuel reloading. The generating set has been using up the nuclear fuel [it has left] recently, and its output has been gradually being reduced. The No 1 generating set the South-Ukrainian nuclear power plant started working in the same mode too, and it is to be stopped in several weeks for fuel reloading.

There is a three-month delay in repairs at the No 3 generating set at the South-Ukrainian nuclear power plant due to nuclear fuel shortage.
