OT a nite with no light

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Many areas in North Phoenix and Scottsdale were without power this evening for an hour or more. My lights came back on at 9:21. I used my Y2k light supplies. It happened while I was lurking on this forum and I wondered if LL was sitting in the dark?

Some days if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

Live long and prosper!

My lights have been on, but I'm farther north. However, my best friend lives on the mountain and when I talked to her about a half hour ago she didn't mention it.
It's nice to be prepared, isn't it.

It hit areas around Dobbins Ranch....also areas between Northern and Thomas ( & my area around squaw peak ). I was just curious if you were hit ... and if you were lurking at the time...

I would bet a hundred dollars it wasn't Y2k related..:)

Big question is: were any kind of unusual weather conditions in play? If not, the outage almost has to be for some kind of technical reason. Drunks don't hit poles, and squirrels don't eat through lines too often.

I'm not familiar with Dobbins Ranch. I've heard of it, just don't know exactly where it's at. Is it by Spy Headquarters?

(Laughter) My mama didn't raise no fools. I won't take your bet 'cause I'll NEVER blame anything on Y2k!

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Ha ha, Uncle Fred!!

We don't have any squirrels here! This is the desert!!

The weather is beautiful here, but we do get a ocassional cat fried in the lines.

(Besides, glitches happen a couple of times a year. I can live with 'em easy. After thinking Y2k would be an 8 last October, a week without electricity doesn't even seem that bad. [Boy, have my perceptions changed.])

Goodnight, you guys.

No unusual weather conditions....and no UFO's tonight in the Phoenix area. I am just going to mark it down as an "Act of God".

Our lights were off for 4 or 5 hours last week, but that's such a short time, the only thing I had to use was some stored water to wash a few dishes. Where I live the lights going off from 15 min., to a few hours, means that it's a tree limb on a line, or somebody hit a pole.

Laura, you sound just like all my kinfolk. Maybe you are. There is know y2k never was, yes never was.
