greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Folks,

some people are pushing my buttons. I want to make something very clear.

This forum's purpose is for opened discussions on current events, exchange of ideas, views and opinions between adults who ACT like responsible adults.

This forum is NOT for:

-Encouraging destruction of other forums.

-Venting your anger on a bad hair day and posting ANYTHING that will jeopardize MY forum, in any way, shape of form.

You don't like this forum, you go play on another one that will let you.

I've started this forum to give EVERYONE a chance to speak their piece freely post-y2k. Now many people feel they want to move on, that Y2K is over, but want to continue discussing about anything and everything. Well that's fine with me, but DON'T take this as a free ticket to act out your bad deeds at my expense. I don't need the agravation of having to deal with sysops from other forums, or my mail box filled with complaints from other posters.

Act like an adult and you won't have your post deleted. Period.

Good night.

Good luck. I might add as the truly not-arrogant mother of grown children, that you might have better results if you told them to run totally amok...in perpetuity.

As I said. Good Luck....

I take it this another imitator/troll post. However, if not, could you please give a few specific examples of the behavior that offends you?

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Old:

I am sorry I "pushed your buttons" by posting information how to post a new question to old TB2000 forum, I will not do so again. I'm sure you probably did get a few with they're panties in an uproar because I pointed out how easy it was to "deface the shrine"... oh well...

Anyway, thanks for starting this alternative to that other crap, and I hope you don't let the power of the delete key take you into the same follies that resulted in the end of what was probably one of the best forums I've ever seen.

May this one become what that once was, without the egos...

Welcome back Donner! About time you showed up.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 17, 2000.

Old TB2K Forum Regular,

I most humbly apologize for calling someone a jerk. As I said, that was my first flame ever (I think), and it wont happen again. Your job is hard enough already. You are doing a great job, and I dont envy your position.

-- Spindoc' (spindoc_99_2000@yahoo.com), March 17, 2000.

Frank..

The examples have been deleted, as they were "how to" instructions to ring the old TB2000 sysops chimes...

Stay awake and remember the refresh key :)

-- Carl (clilly@goentre.com), March 17, 2000.

Spindoc... what's with the groveling?

You and Old got one of those S&M things going on :)

Teasing....

-- Carl (clilly@goentre.com), March 17, 2000.

Carl,

Thx.

Frank

It amazes me how people get upset over these bytes, bits and pixels...emotional over illusions....with delusions of reality....

Drink some Kool-Aid and enjoy the sunshine. These pixels aren't even real, DUDE!

-- Pixel Dancer (Pixel@dancer.com), March 17, 2000.

Hi Donna, Glad to see you back. I've been asking about you.

Unclel Deedah, did you mean Donna? If not, who is DONNER????

Old Regular, I hope I didn't push any of your buttons, if someone else did I must have missed that post.

-- gilda (jess@listbot.com), March 17, 2000.

Gilda:

I second those emotions. (((DONNA!)))

Interesting the guilt process on this one, isn't it, Gilda? First there's the Bart Simpson "I didn't do it!" thought, followed by "I didn't do it, did I?", followed by "Well, maybe I DID do it...did I?", followed by "Well, if I DID do it, I'm sorry I did it."

-- Anita (notgiving@anymore.thingee), March 17, 2000.

If you don't mind me asking, who are you

you sent me that mail didn't you

please take some anti-ratbag tabs

-- richard (richard.dale@onion.com), March 17, 2000.

Gilda,

Yes I meant Donna, but because I am surrounded by New Yakas in this little part of FL....New Yakas who call Pizza Peetzer, Cuba Cuber, etc, I have chosen to call my sweet Donna Donner.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 17, 2000.

Well, just don't throw a party for 'Donner,' okay?

-- not hungry (notan@ppatizer.maincourse), March 17, 2000.

Anita, I think that's the "Bill Clinton" guilt process...

-- Powder (Powder@keg.com), March 17, 2000.

Old Regular

First, thank you for setting-up this forum. For now, at least, it is needed.

Second, I hope you weren't referring to those of us who are still monitoring y2k's possible effects ("Now many people feel they want to move on, that Y2K is over, but want to continue discussing about anything and everything.") If you see categories of subjects or attitudes towards subjects that you believe should not be here, perhaps you need to clarify.

Meanwhile, I'll keep bringing up subjects that were discussed on the old forum unless/until you give clear direction I should do otherwise.

Again, thank you.

-- viewer (justp@ssing.by), March 17, 2000.

Viewer, my sense is that OTFR is annoyed at the imposter trolls (Obo blew a gasket over several posts that were put up in her name), the trolls who are attempting to trash the old TB archives, as well as those who are engaging in LL baiting/bashing with the multiple threads; I think if they had kept it to one or two threads, it wouldn't have been so annoying. I'm not trying to speak for OTFR -- s/he is well-equiped to do that -- I'm just trying to make sense of what is happening on both fora.

-- (kb8um8@yahoo.com), March 17, 2000.

TPTB on the censored forum cannot figure out that nearly all of their problems were self-inflicted. Some of them or members of their congretation have been trying to create the same problems here that the old sysops used to face, and cannot figure out that on an uncensored board, such techniques aren't very effective.

It's interesting, however, that those who were upset by 'disruption' from those who disagreed with them, are so gleefully engaging in those same tactics knowing they have a safe bed to go hide under. As always with children, double standards are fine *in their favor*, and intolerable in someone else's.

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), March 17, 2000.

Old TB@K Forum Regular:

Thanks so much for putting up this forum. I do not reallt think you need to explain your reasons for deleting posts-It is fairly obvious to those of us who have a modicum of intelligence.

The only ones screaming "censorship" are the ones who are using this forum instead of a therapist. We can ignore those trolls and malcontents-The rest of us are enjoying this new forum and look forward to its growth.

We are grateful to come to a place where we can freely hold an opinion. Having this option is great.

Keep up the excellant work.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), March 17, 2000.

WARNING if any more of my posts get deleted I'll pull A lady logic and spam the shit out of this board. And believe me I can make her spamming look like the amature that the bitch is.

-- Manny (No@dip.com), March 17, 2000.

Maybe you should identify which one of your posts got deleted, Manny.

-- (hmm@hmm.hmm), March 17, 2000.

Oh, the delicious irony of mannys words! Its just like when Stan the Meme was finally exposed, before Christmas. I feel all tingly!!!

OH poor manny, I wonder who you "were" on StinkButt2000---probably one of the loudest people demanding that the "pollys" be silenced! How does it feel to have the shoe on the other foot, boy?

(If I wasn't such a proponent of free speech, I'd recommend that you be censured until you can learn to behave---just so you would know what it feels like to have you speech (type) manipulated. But, I have been through that and would wish it on any but the most extreme offenders.)

I LOVE THIS!!! The extreme doomers finally know how it feels!!!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

-- Super Polly (FU_Q_Y2kfreaks@hotmail.com), March 17, 2000.

Manny,

Take a valium and relax. Why are you so unhappy with your life? If you are over 18, please consider getting professional help. If under 18, relax, you'll grow out of it.

-- Dr. Shrink (drshrink@shrink.assoc), March 17, 2000.

Welcome back, Donna with her sheets. Missed your input, also.

-- Normally (Oxsys@aol.com), March 17, 2000.

Anita, LOL, What you said is so true. I immediately thought; Did he mean me--he couldn't--he wouldn't--he shouldn't!!!! Gawd, I hope not. Anyway, it is like Bart Simpson isn't it? We must all feel a little guilty.

Donna, did you see my posts, wanting you to come back. I got the sheet part all wrong, but I did ask where you were.

Unc, I know what you mean now. I'll never forget President Kennedy talking a "Afirker", for Africa, and they never park, they paahk. heheh
