By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 6: Eight family members of a policeman were wounded after the underground water tank exploded at his house in North Nazimabad on Thursday..

The explosion reportedly triggered a panic in Kausar Niazi Colony where the incident occurred.

The residents of the colony raised alarm and cried out for help as they presumed it a big blast and ran fearing for their lives. The situation was reportedly under control after the police and Edhi volunteers rushed to the scene and mounted their operation. The police, however, described this explosion as a minor incident. It was caused by a leakage in gas line near the water tank and the family members suffered minor injuries. No case was registered by the police.

Edhi sources said that the injured were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but the hospital sources denied that no injured was brought to the hospital.
