Power outage at airport

SEATAC, Wash. (AP) - An 18-minute electrical outage at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport did not affect systems critical for flight safety, officials said.

The outage began just after 7:40 p.m. Wednesday and affected gear ranging from escalators to baggage-claim conveyor belts. The cause was not immediately determined.

Airport officials told KING Television that runway lights, the control tower and other critical systems remained in operation.
