The Trial

After living a "decent" life my time on earth came to an end. The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a court house. The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the "prosecutor," he was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me, he definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen. I sat down and looked to my left and there sat my lawyer, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed very familiar to me. The corner door flew open and there appeared the judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as he moved across the room and I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

As he took his seat behind the bench he said "Let us begin."

The prosecutor rose and said "My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell." He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own lawyer, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at my representative who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I've done?

Satan finished with a fury and said "This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise.

When it was his turn, my lawyer first asked if he might approach the bench. The judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned him to come forward. As he got up and started walking I was able to see him now in his full splendor and majesty. Now I realized why he seemed so familiar, this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior. He stopped at the bench and softly said to the judge "Hi Dad" and then he turned to address the court. "Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And yes the wages of sins is death and this man deserves to be punished".

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to his Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed "However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted me as his Savior, so he is mine." My Lord continued with "His name is written in the book of life and no one can remove him from me. Satan still does not understand yet, this man is not to be given justice but rather mercy." As Jesus sat down, he quietly paused, looked at his Father and replied "There is nothing else that needs to be done, I've done it all".

The Judge lifted his mighty hand and slammed the gavel down and the following words bellowed from his mouth "This man is free - the penalty for him has already been paid in full, case dismissed."

As my Lord led me away I could hear Satan ranting and raving "I won't give up, I'll win the next one." I asked Jesus as he gave me my instructions where to go next, "Have you ever lost a case?" Christ lovingly smiled and said "Everyone that has come to me and asked me to represent them has received the same verdict as you...Paid in Full."

In this world of terrible hurt, pain, suffering, and extreme self centered focus to the exclusion of everyone and everything else there are times when logic, thought, discussion etc. do nothing. It is in these times I have learned that I have only one place to turn to ease the pain.

If you do not pass this along to 15 people immediately absolutely nothing will happen. No curse, no bad fortune, absolutely nothing. Passing this on to anyone you consider a friend, as I have done here, will bless you both, that is what Jesus promised us all.

Passing this on to one not considered a friend is something I know Christ would do.

While the above posts may ALL be off topic, the posters aren't posting on the same theme repeatedly. I "singled you out" not because of the Christian theme of THIS thread, but because you've posted multiple threads on the same Christian theme in the past several days.

Nothing personal, this is just the same fire you might draw if you went to alt.Christian and started repeatedly posting on the value of a Chevy Suburban over a Ford Explorer.

Is there a limit?

From my point of view, nothing goes on in our world that isn't related to the Kingdom of God.

My posts are not meant to irritate, but to create what you and I are doing right now, holding a discussion. I don't deny the fact that my posts do a little more than just irritate some. That happens just because I state what my beliefs are.

Some people have had very bad experiences for various reasons, with Christianity. Some of them since early childhood. For that I'm sorry. Human beings can be so crule to each other. This is just one more reason I rely on Christ. I'm no different than anyone else. I make mistakes. I've made some REALLY big ones in my life but I keep trying to do better and understanding that I can never be perfect. Just forgiven.

Believer, there is a Christian forum on the LUSENET list. In fact, there are several forums in several different categories on LUSENET, from Monster Ranchers to Poetry. I like posting on the Poetry forum myself, but I don't inflict it on this forum, for this is no more a Poetry or Monster Truck Forum than it is a Christian Forum or a Hair Dressers forum. There's a message here. So now that I'm on here, I'm going to express my opinion of your proselytizing posts.

You may think you are being singled out for criticism, but to me you are pushing your personal religious beliefs. Had this thread been labeled OT- The Trial (Christian), I wouldn't have even opened it, any more than I would have opened "Interent Insider Stock Tips," but the difference is that I could tell by the title that I could pass "Stock Tips." But I thought "The Trial" might be about any one of a dozen trials that are going on right now. Wrong!

OK Believer, let me ask you these few things:

Lev 19:27 Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard

Why are the Fundie Christians not following this one?

Lev 20:9 If anyone curses his mother or father he must be put to death

Why is this one not being followed?

Exo 31:15 Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death

Why are not the Sunday 7-11 and gas station workers executed on the spot?

Exo 35:3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day

I suppose that would cover fireplaces as well as doing any cooking, why are not the Christians yelling about that one?

Deut 15:1 At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts

How is it that Christians who work at a bank or mortgage lender are able to live with themselves?

Deut 22:5 A woman must not wear mans clothing, nor a man wear womans clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.

Why no outrage at the gals who wear jeans?

I could go on and on with hundreds of these silly laws that Christians break on a daily basis without remorse, yet Christians are perfectly capable of outrage at the SEXUAL sins of others, from gays, to prostitution, to adult bookstores! They see no problem in throwing people with a drug problem into prison for a long, long time! A bit hypocritical is it not? Yet if you read what Jesus hated worse than anything you will see that his greatest outrage was reserved for HYPOCRITES!!!

Holy Moly! Whats up with that?

I will take your advise. Any future posts I may start regarding Christianity will be labeled OT first in the header.

I do however, reserve the right to respond to posts where Christians or Christian views may be challenged or needed.

I Believe, please go back to the VERY FIRST RESPONSE in this thread. Why have you decided to put "OT" in now, 20 posts later? I say stay the course! Keep posting more and longer diatribes on THIS thread and all others about how this really is on topic. If that doesn't work, there's always a DOS attack....

Oh by the way, everyone here is a pretty good Christian, the people who REALLY need saving are on Ed Yourdan's Y2K forum on EZBoard.
