I made an video cd with Adaptec deluxe 4.0 software and get .dat file in segments folder. Is it possible to make a video CD which will be autorunning, i.e., when you put a cd in CD ROM drive to start automatically with playing movie.

The best one to use is I-On VCD player. It is free and available from http://www.i-on.net/

It is the only player which is fully VCD compliant (try playing a VCD made only of still pictures and you'll see what I mean). There is a still a problem with hi-res still created by VideoPack, but I have not found a single player that would display them correctly. As I-On uses the codecs in your system, there is a chance that this might be fixed in a future release of MediaPlayer.

To make it autorun your VCD you will need to add files to your VCD, this is what I do:

\autorun.inf \WIN\gui.dll \WIN\i-vcdp.exe \WIN\manual.pdf (optional)

autorun.inf is made of the following 3 lines: [AUTORUN] OPEN=WIN\i-vcdp.exe ICON=WIN\i-vcdp.exe

Noper. There's an autorun 'program' available for free with instructions at http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Sector/4444/. Simply set up Sly's .dat file to point to the VCD's .dat file. Let me know if you have any questions.
