We have a couple of DBA positions available immediately. I have icluded the description for Sr. DBA. The compensation for the Sr. position goes up to 110K plus stock options, stock purchase plan and traditional benefits. The salary for the mid-level DBA goes up to 85K.

The Senior Database Administrator will work with a team of software engineers, producers and the like to create database driven web applications written Visual Basic, ASP and C++ in the COM/NT application development framework.

The ideal candidate will be able to find creative solutions to problems that jeopardize project goals or timing. The candidate must feel comfortable and remain calm in the face of rapid change and aggressive deadlines common to Internet companies; Ability to design elegant yet practical software and solutions is imperative to success in this position.

The Senior Database Administrator reports to the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities will include: - Technical and architectural leadership in design of new databases - Performance and integrity analysis of existing production databases - Developing a database that supports rich search capabilities - Contributing to special projects related to statistical analysis, data mining and data aggregation Required Skills: - Mastery of the SQL language in MS SQL, Sybase or Oracle RDBMS. - Mastery of stored procedures - Mastery of ERDs - Strong skill in hardware architecture and scalability analysis - Strong knowledge of the Windows NT operating system - Working knowledge of Data/logic tier architectures - Working knowledge of HTML/HTTP

Desired Skills: - Experience with VLDB systems - Experience with application development - Experience with hardware configuration - Ownership of a production databases uptime and performance

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a BA or BS in Engineering or Computer Science from a major university with five or more years of experience including significant Internet related experience. The candidate should have had exposure to modern database administration tools and methodologies and should have been involved in database administration in a team environment. The individual must have a solid analytical background, be detail-oriented and, have a demonstrable ability to learn quickly.
