Can anyone tell me of a website that will discuss lighting techniques and also offer layout diagrams as well as resulting photos? Specifically macro setups. I know there are books on the subject but, hey I'm cheap.

For nonmoving subjects, cut the bottom off a plastic milk jug, cut a hole in the jug for your lens, place the jug over the subject, the lens in the hole in the jug, fire the flash at the jug using an off camera flash connected to the camera with a cord, and finally use TTL metering. This will give you soft non-directional lighting of the subject.
