Medicaid Buyin for People with Disabilities

On 03-01-2000 Medicaid Insurance became available to people who work and have disabilities.

The new Medicaid Program has limits far different than the old traditional Medicaid Program. Medicaid can NOW be purchased, at rates far below other health insurance policies. Monthly premiums range from $20. (for monthly income up to $1044.), to $201. (for income above $2,548 per month).

Under the new Medicaid Program, one can have assets of up to $12,000 for a single person (not including house, car, IRA, & some other exclusions). Asset amount is $13,000 for a couple.

Medicaid covers major medical, doctors visits, eye glasses and exams, dental, and prescriptions.
