PRE-Y2K GLITCH IN YUMA DELAYS REPORT CARDS

Report cards for students in the Yuma Union High School District finally were mailed after nearly a month's delay as a result of a computer glitch.

The district began using new computer software this year to track student attendance and grades. An error in one minor line of code in the new program caused some grades to be changed by the computer after being entered by the teachers, said Sandy Leeper, a specialist for a computer information server network.
