And my admiration for Jesse goes the way of the Dodo.

Please! Somebody make me KING!

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 11, 2000.

Well, I'd rather have Bradlley than Gore, or McCain than Bush, but better Gore than Shrubya.

-- gilda (jess@listbot.com), March 11, 2000.

Bradley????? Holy shat! I thought you were a Libertarian, that guy is as socialist as they come. And McCain thinks that squashing the tobbacco companies, while enriching tort lawyers is Okey Dokey with him. So much for personal responsability of choice. Not to mention that McCain's lauded Finance Reform ideas would violate the First Amendment, and at the same time give the press the power of life and death in regards to a candidates' ability to get their message out.

Not that I like Gore or Bush, but really, Al Gore?

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 11, 2000.

GOOD GOD GIRDY!!!

Jesse must be havin' some kind of flash back.I would have thought he would have endorsed an independent or a Libertarian.

My opinion of Jesse also went straight down the crapper.

Why are good people so hard to find?

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), March 11, 2000.

Go Mama Bush's Mama's Boy all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Politics: more controversial in nature than lobster sex.

-- Anita (notgiving@anymore.thingee), March 11, 2000.

If I hadn't been into conspiracy theories before this year I would be now. Have to say that this election is going to give us one hell of a good time and plenty to fill up those empty spaces between refinery shut downs, plane crashes ,the collapse of water and sewer systems and deadly hazmat incidents.

I kinda like ol' Jesse though. Wonder what brought him to this declaration.

And speaking of 'rasslin', any news of KOS?

-- another government hack (keepwatching_2000@yahoo.com), March 11, 2000.

Y'all just don't understand: both the Algore Unit and Jesse have a thing about nature. Granted, Jesse likes to ride three wheelers through it, and the Algore Unit wants to acquire it in the name of the USG, but that is a topic near and dear to their hearts, as well as Drinking Beer. Yes, the Algore Unit likes beer, and do y'all really think that Dear Ol' Jesse would EVER support a COKEHEAD?? NO! So his support of the Algore Unit is not really a surprise: Garrison Keillor's nomination as VP will be.

-- (woe@lake.woebegone), March 11, 2000.

woe

Please don't besmirch the good and horable name, BEER! Besides, algore seems like a wine cooler kinda guy, just so he can brag to tripper that he can drink a WHOOOOLE 4 pack.

After hearing this revalation I think it's a 12pk kind of night.

Algore's my man!

Is this even true? Anyone ELSE hear this or come up with a link?

-TECH32-

-- TECH32 (TECH32@NOMAIL.CON), March 11, 2000.

No link, yet. Just checked the CNN site, then AP, and UPI. If this is true, maybe it'll appear somewhere later tonight.

Capnfun--There are good people. They just don't "do" politics.

-- jeileen (tjfarrar@bellsouth.net), March 11, 2000.

Jeileen,

I know there are lots of great people, they might be you or me or any number of people on this forum.

Maybe we should do politics.

Thinking in earnest.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), March 11, 2000.

Here's a link to the real story:

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20000312/ts/campaign_leadall_267.html

It says that Gore met with Ventura. Gore says he didn't ask for and didn't get an endorsement.

Didn't we learn anything from Y2K? Let's at least verify a story before we all get in a a lather :^)

-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), March 12, 2000.

Jim,

Your point is WELL taken.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), March 12, 2000.

Oh I get it now Hawk, you're Andy! No, wait, Andy had a sense of humor.

And semper's post did attack views held by "Liberals" and so what, it was still funny.

I said above that I dis-like the "Liberal" label, but the language has been twisted to make that word fit those on the left. As has the word "Conservative" been given to the people on the right. Conservatives have very little interest in "conserving" the Constitutional ideals that the people should be allowed to pursue happiness if that pursuit of happiness does not fit with their ideas of "morality".

Sempers post attacks liberal citizens, instead of the elite who forward the NWO agenda, who by the way over history have been for the most part more conservative and right-wing in their policy.

Now there you go again Hawk with your labeling! Stop it!

Perhaps we should re-label the debate to the forces of "Pro-Freedom" vs the forces of "Anti-Freedom". And the left and right both have their share of folks on both freedom teams. And so, in the spirit of this new debate I offer the following;

You're a conservative if you believe...

* That the NRA is good, because it stands up for certain parts of the Constitution, but the ACLU is bad, because it stands up for certain parts of the Constitution;

* That the best thing you can find in a public school is children praying;

Hmmmm, those are the only two I can twist, here's two I came up with all by myself

* That pot is evil, but tobbacco is a personal choice.

* That the way to solve consensual crimes is to make more consensual activities criminal.

Anyone else got any?

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 12, 2000.

Damn! That will teach me to open too many windows on a Sunday Morning, sorry folks, wrong thread.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 12, 2000.

The correct answer for this thread is......

You are 100% right Jim, I walked past the TV and saw Jesse with Gore, but did not stop to see the entire report, and thus assumed that this thread was based in reality. My bad. Classic "Y2K sucker" thinking...all I have to add is

DOH!!!!!

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 12, 2000.

Uncle Deedah, are you pissed at me? Seems you're on my case a lot.

OK, I'll explain my reasoning. My sole reason for choosing Bradley over Gore is his stand on abortion; he is Pro-Choice and says so. And I thought that being a Libertarian was all about CHOICE. Am I wrong? Please enlighten me if I am. Gore has waffled on this issue, and I don't trust him. Bush and McCain both are Anti. Pardon me while I insert my usual disclaimer here:

(The above statement is not meant to start a flame war about abortion. This is my opinion. I am not trying to stir up one of those endless monologues about abortion pro or con. I am only explaining my reasons for choices of candidates.)

I am not fond of McCain or Bush, but Bush seems to be simply an upgrade of Dan Quayle, but with his families connections to oil. Oil, tobacco, campaign finance reform, big money--all candidates suck the corporate tit, so on this topic it's a draw.

-- gilda (jess@listbot.com), March 12, 2000.

Wonder if they mud wrestle?

-- consumer (shh@aol.com), March 12, 2000.

Of course not gilda, I love everyone.

I was just surprised that ANYONE could like Bradley, hee hee.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), March 12, 2000.

Dave Barry is running. From reading about his campaign, he's pro standardized tests for school kids, pro childbirth, and pro anything else that doesn't involve HIM. He feels that there never should have been sex in the oval office. They should have done it on the lawn of the White House. He feels that Iraq [and other countries that hate America] should be bombed with lawyers. If the first bombing doesn't work, he'll put parachutes on the lawyers.

Why waste a perfectly good vote on the other guys?

-- Anita (notgiving@anymore.thingee), March 12, 2000.

Gore vs W--

Gore-a slightly left of center yuppy wimp bought and paid for by Big Labor (what's left of it), the NEA and the Hollywood knee-jerks

Bush-a slightly right of center yuppy wimp bought and paid for by Big Old Time Business, the NRA and the Fundy knee-jerks.

Jesse Ventura's endorsement-easily cancelled by Dick the Bruiser's

Where's a good *sigh* when we need it?
