Sheri, love the fuel gauge. You must have had my Navigator in mind when you put that up. BTW, ARCO Plus is $1.62 at my station in Orange County, CA.

I FINALLY know something about fuel prices in my area [only because the kid complained last night that $10.00 no longer filled a tank that once could be filled with $8.00] She said regular unleaded was $1.57 at the local station and $1.37 at Racetrack. She drove over to Racetrack, and I suspect that will be her station of choice now.

OOPS! Forgot to say that's in Tarrant County, Texas.

I think you're right Sheri. Climbing a nickle or more a week here. I feel sorry for the ppl that have gone Urban flight the last few years. Bad enough to have to commute in with horrendous traffic, but now it's cutting into many families limited budgets.

A QUESTION,

I've got about 3 months' worth of gas stored, and wonder how long I should wait before tapping it. Any thoughts?

Frank

I'd wait to touch my stores till I see if there will be rationing or a limit in supply. That will be more important to me (to have gas) than to have it at a cheaper price.

Gas at my favorite station here in southwest lower Michigan just went DOWN from 1.629 to 1.479 over night. everybody else in town did the same. Very rare to see it go down more than 2cents in one day.

With allocation announced here in WA State, I keep my tanks full at all times. My thinking is if stations run out of allocated fuels and it is a few days until the next delivery, better to have a full tank. Don't have anywhere to store fuel here. If you have them, hang on to them for a while for those in-between availability times.

Jeez, and I was thinking of selling my now-empty 6gal gas cans in a yard sale. Think I'll refill before it hits $2.00 per regular and store in case of rationing. I'm old enough to remember the lines at the gas stations, and stations closing at 6PM. More people these days, in more of a hurry, and more willing -perhaps- to use their guns if you block their important way.
