Omaha Approaches....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : It's All About Joe 90: The Discussion Board : One Thread

Hey all...

I'm starting to get awful anxious for the Omaha show! I know it's still over a week away but I can't stop thinking about how amazing its going to be for me because: 1) I'll see the guys again 2)they're playing in my hometown (or at least where I was raised) 3) my family will be there to enjoy the show with me. Which brings me to my next question. Do any of your parents dig the band? I think my mom will like them but my dad's still hooked on the Bee Gee's and Righteous Brothers! I like both of his bands but c'mon, we all know they don't compare to adam, chris, craig, and gary! Anyways, the Omaha show is on St. Patty's day and I plan on drinking a good amount of green beer and completely enjoying the bands performance. I guess I couldn't ask for a better St. Patty's Day. Here's to another amazing Joe 90 experience "somewhere in middle america!"

Cheers, Josh

Joshalicious!

i really really wish i was going to Omaha. you have to scream extra loud for all of us.

re: my mom and the band...see post in Guestbook. "although i'm not a fan of Joe 90..."

after she posted that, i said "MA! they READ THAT!". oy vey. Craig, however, admits to being a fan of my mom. since that episode, i've forced her to listen to the CD, and she's pretty big on Look. except for the car horns.

sometimes i wonder about my genetics, ya know?

josh asked "Do any of your parents dig the band?"

ummm...just a little :) It all started when my dad stood up after the seattle show and screamed YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! He then proceeded to get MY cd signed, MY poster signed (to HIM), introduce me to everyone, take pictures, find them after every show, steal my cd for his car, take my bootlegs, read the message boards I post to, tell all of his friends about them, wear his joe 90 shirt ALL the time, and generally talk non stop about the greatness that is Joe 90. He even started listening to the local alt. rock station just so he can hear them. My dad is pretty cool but he's out of hand :) He's even made off with my God's Child cds!

My mom likes them a lot better than CC, too. Now there is one cd they can both agree to listen to when they are in the same car together.

whoa kelly, your dad is out of CONTROL! but in a GOOD way. :) that all sounds familiar, i think you posted some of that in the aol folder...?

i am still waiting on my first joe90 radio experience.

speaking of "firsts"...i voted today in my first presidental primary and i was all excited and i TOTALLY dorked out... when i was handing in my ballot i got into a discussion with the guy about being regsitered as an independent and how i'd never voted for a presidental primary before and i go "yeah -- it's my first time!".

it was funnier earlier, i swear to cheese.

also, green beer...ugh. erin, make sure you get some green carnations and stick them in your hair! like a true erin-go-bra. ;)

such a random post. blah!

>Do any of your parents dig the band?

my mom loves them! i had an extra copy of the cd so i sent it to her and told her to go to the pittsburgh show, just because i couldnt and at least i'd be genetically represented that way. she wasnt a huge fan just from the cd alone, but then she went to the show and really liked it and met the band and loved them and kept on talking about chris' hugs, so she went to the shows 2 weeks later too and is now a huge fan. she got the cd personalized to her too, while i have no autographs. i think i'll live though.

she is also a huge cc fan, and used to drive me all around ohio for concerts when they toured 3 years ago... now that i'm living in ca, i figured she wouldnt go to any shows except maybe if they actually played pittsburgh, but she drove 3 hours to cleveland to see them and is planning to go to toledo too i think.

your dad sounds a little scary though, kelly! but cool :)

my parents dig joe90, but only because they think they are very beatle-esque. my mum likes truth, even though she made fun of it when she first heard it.

i mailed my college application today. im gonna throw up. ugh. it was scary. i had to go to my old high school to get my transcripts. i was standing in between two high school chicks with white eyeliner and flared jeans. i felt very outta place. heh. its good to know that i have definitely grown up.

peter stuart a go-go. he cant compare to joe90. even if the devil is in his pants.

My mom rocks. She has taken Brittany (my best friend... but I think most of you guys know that :)) and I to so many shows. She was a concert virgin before 1999, can you believe that? After May, she will have been to, ohh... eleven concerts? Not bad for her first year. ;) She loves Joe 90, Gigolo Aunts, Counting Crows... all of the bands I adore. I think she has been told she is the "coolest mom" more than she can count. I agree :) I wonder if she'll be like Kathy's mom and go to concerts on her own after I move out. Probably not... so I'll have to come back here to go to shows with her so she'll go! But you never know...
