Moving the Prep Board to eztype board

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Preparation Forum : One Thread

There's talk on the new TB200 board of moving the Prep Board over there. Personally, I don't want that to happen. I lurk on both boards. The new TB200, I find very difficult to follow. I like the prep board just the way it is. Even though I don't contribute (don't have a lot of tips to offer), I am learning a lot. Please let it stay. DuffyO

I'll second that. This isn't the most active of boards, but I usually swing through at least once a day. Don't like the other board as well as I like this one. Gerbil

I vote we stay here. I check out this site everyday. I loocked at the new TB2000 board and did not like the way it was formatted. I won't even go look at it anymore. Ity is too hard to read and follow.

I'll be checking in here daily too. I print out the instructive or even just informative information in all kinds of categories. This board is very easy to follow especially for those that don't have a lot of time. I like this board just where it is, let's keep it here if possible.

I hope they decide to leave the board here. I lurk, but rarely post. When I've visited the other site, like some of the others have said, it's hard to follow the thread/postings. This site is good for anyone like me that isn't a computer whiz.

Agreed. Here you see the whole thread at once. Please stay.

I'm getting to where I kind of like the new board but this one is faster and easier to use. The Prep Board hasn't seen the kind of incessant spamming and hateful activity the old TB2000 board did so there doesn't seem to be much reason to change it.

please keep this one here, it's so much easier to read. and i still have so many threads to print out to keep. don't know how to do that on the other board(getting to the archives that is). hoping you will listen. thanks, laura

Links are links- just as easy to get here from the bookmarks as anywhere. Visited over at the new TB2K home, don't like the format nearly as much as this one. My vote (if it counts for anything): leave TBPrep here.

**decloaking long enough for soft voice to be heard***

PLEASE DON'T MOVE THIS FORUM!!!!!!!!

I'm using an old computer and can barely receive this text only site. I'll lose y'all at that easy board place.

I visit at least once a day and will post more when I have something of value to share.

I vote for this forum, too- always check on it at least once a day.

I have been to the new forum and also find the format extremely confusing. I like the format here -- find a post that sounds interesting, click on it and yeehaa, there are all the replies for the scrolling! Leave this board right hyere!

I concur with all of you! Hope they leave well enough alone!!

Friends -- As the moderator here, I can assure you we won't be moving or closing this board. OTOH, we will be opening prep categories over at EZBoard.

The Internet enables dozens of wonderful prep sites to take shape. While keeping track of stuff is needlessly confusing at times, this is the way of the world at this early stage in the medium's evolution.

I'm sure folks over "there" (certainly, myself) will cross-post to here most times. Also, we will have a SPECIFIC prep forum there reachable directly, so you don't need to fumble around looking for useful stuff. So, it really will just be a mouse-click away.

Hope that is reassuring ....
