RIGHTEEE-O! Not only is it not SUMMER .... it's not even SPRING!! There's two weeks of winter left. All those cautionary wire stories we've been reading over the last few weeks "Gas could reach $2.00/gal by this Summer" -- as gas knocked a dime off the price each week.

Am I correct in assuming that "The Market has already discounted this"?

Gas has gone up 40% in 60 days here in Centex.

Most certainly guns/butter spending is happening... how long does it take to see the results manifest?

Wall St. analysts are claiming P&G's weak earnings sent the DOW down.. are we somehow to believe the gas increase is not going to affect earnings/profitability over the next two or three quarters?

P&G blamed higher-than-expected costs in pulp and petroleum for their big earnings shortfall, and their stock (bluest of blue chips) got pounded down 30%. If a very smart and well-managed company like P&G is having these sort of issues, the rest of that sector (y'know, the one that makes almost everything in the supermarket aisles) is going to be in a world of hurt.
