Can I burn kerosene in my oil burner?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

I have about 50 gallons of clear K-1 that I bought to burn in a kerosene stove as a backup at rollover. I know K-1's recommended storage life is about 6 months. Question: Can I add the kero in small quantities over time to my 250 gallon oil tank and then burn the resulting mix in my conventional oil burner? Thanks for the help.

No problem. We cut fuel oil with kero up here all the time. As much as a 50/50 mix.

yes a 50/50 blend of #2 and K1 works just fine. We use it year round, never gells in the cold weather.

This seemed like a good place to ask this ? without starting a new thread.

Is there a way to home brew gasoline if you had a barrel or so of west Texas crude?
