OT: An Uh-oh question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

A quick question,

I thought the reason the OTHER forum was closed was that Phil G. thought it was taking up too much server time, effort with spammers, etc. Won't this thread be scrubbed for the same reason within days as well? Or did I miss the boat on the "real reason" somewhere?

Puzzled,

Frank

P.S. Great idea and its execution P.P.S. Hello again everyone! P.P.P.S. I still like the "O.T."s

Me too. How does this forum operate and how does it run. I have been reading for eight months and have never thought about it. Could anyone with expertise post?

Frank, I think you "missed the boat" on ALL the reasons. But that's IMHO. Many reasons have been explained here already, keep on reading. Also read Ed's explanations, and like the rest of us, make up your mind as for why.

But as far as I know, Phil Greenspun had nothing to do with it, it was Ed's final decision with the help of his moderators.

Old tb2k Are you saying that Phil has no input regarding the old site? How did Ed get to his position of power? And how did the moderators get to their positions? How does this all operate?

Anyone can start a forum on LUSENET, dorado. And if you start the forum, you become it's moderator, and then may pass on to others the "key" as you wish.

I think we should thank and acknowledge Phil and MIT for hosting this site.

Phil & Co.; In terms of neutral technical assistance, please help us if there are thing we as a board need to do to make life easier for you and the computer minders over at MIT.
