.asf and .avi files to VCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Ok, i really hope that this question has not already been answered because i read alot of the previous posts and did not see it. I am wondering how to get .asf and .avi files from my hard drive onto a VCD to be read by my DVD player (Sony DVP-S530D). I've got Xing MPEG encoder and Nero CDR writing software. For some reason the Xing will not read the .avi files that i have and does not even have the option to load the .asf files. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, Throw everything else out.

What you really need for this is Sonic Foundry's latest Vegas Video 3.0 with the mpeg 1 and 2 plugin installed. You can load the ASF and render output in vcd quality MPG output. It even has a utility in built to support direct VCD burn.

Only problem.........$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

$459 for the package.

Best of luck.
