Am I nuts or was this related to LD

I prepared and have my storage shed of stuff! All 3 of my computers work fine...antique to new. Now for the Doomers, SciTechies and Techno-geeks. I own a 1995 Lincoln Continental. It has been and outstanding vehicle. This weekend I did a road trip of 350 miles. it purred like a kitten. Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000 I decided to go to town and every dang idiot light, warning guage, bells and whistles were going screwey! Today, the 1st, I just got back from town - about an hour trip - guess who lives in hidden in the hills? And the old bucket of bolts didn't make nary a whimper. Yes, I read all the gobbly-gook the FoMoCo put out about no dates and whatever in the car computers. I also know that the computer in this car reacts to low octane fuel. The car wants high octane and will tell me if I get fuel that doesn't come up to it's exotic taste in petrol. I also know that the computer is accurate enough that I can tell if I'm a 1/2 quart low on oil (rarely does that happen). So...for all you geeks out there -- whata ya think happened with my automobile?

Was this a Leap Day event? Honestly I am not BSing about this. It really occured. Goofey ain'tmisbehaving@fomoco.com

Goofey:

Have you ever had to set a year date for your car? Not the time on the radio but the actual year? How about the month? Didn't think so. So how do you think your car would even know it's leap year day in 2000. Coincidences still happen, even in 2000

I was leaping along... LEAP! LEAP! LEAP!

When I stumbled upon this goofey thread!!

I own an Olds Aurora. About the same price as a Lincoln. This vehicle DOES have a "master calendar" (NOT on a radio) that is set by the user. This clock DOES include a day/month/year.

So, before you "don't think so", do a bit of research. As to the LD thing... Who the hell knows? Mine ran fine on LD.

Jim,

It is also possible that the date is set by the service technician when he runs the diagnostics. they do a lot of things we don't think about.
