US Church Defies Feds Over Taxes.

A confrontation is shaping up in Indianapolis as Temple Baptist Church of Indianapolis prepares to defy a court order to vacate. The 7th Circuit Court has order the church to vacate and allow the government to confiscate the church on April 10, as a result of failure to pay/withhold taxes.

The church is not a 501c3 and has not registered as a church or school, but has continued to operate as a free and independent church and school. Upon receiving the court order, the Indiana militia began to look into the matter. Last night, it was announced that the Kentucky and Ohio militia will join with Indiana to defend the church. Today, on the Alex Jones radio show, there were suggestions that the Tennessee and Michigan militias would also join the effort.

The Baptist Temple Church, 19 Judicial District 2711 South East Street, Indianapolis, has a Sunday attendance of about 1000. The former pastor of 50 years, Pastor Greg Dixon, was on the Alex Jones show today to discuss the matter. His son is currently the pastor of the church. Pastor Dixon said that this is a free country, with free speech and freedom of religion. He said the people of the congregation do not plan to leave their church.

He also said that Janet Reno is actually Johnny Reno, that anyone can see that she is a man. Most likely, it's such remarks that have failed to endear the Pastor to the feds who have obviously targeted this church for an April, 2000 confrontation - yes, it's April once again.

I don't have any additional information on this matter. If you want more information, you can call the church at 317-783-6753, or check out their website - http://home.inreach.com/dov/unregchs.htm

Important Message On Churches and Their Destruction FORWARDER'S NOTE: Ladies and gentlemen, there is a preponderance of those who sat idly by in past years and watched Fascism being instilled into our nation and government. Some called it creeping socialism. Well, the creep has become a gallop and the boots of Fascism (or galloping socialism if you are more comfortable with that) are coming ever closer to your everyday lives. If you lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, it would be on your front doorstep. You must ask the question "Is my church next?" A govern- ment that would trample the First Amendment to the US Constitution will stop at nothing to instill the New World Order and then all but the "approved" churches will be gone. Is Your Church Government Approved??? Can you minister, priest, rabbi or preacher freely speak out against the corrupt and agnostic government? Not if your house of worship is "attached" to the government by your 501 (c) 3 status. Is there a national flag in the sanctuary of your church/house of worship? Is it the United States Flag (of peace) or is it desecrated with a gold fringe and gold tassel hung superior to the flag on the staff? The flag law states that "...nothing will be suspended above (hang superior to) the flag of the United States of America." It also states that "...To mark, print, stencil on, otr attach or sew anything to the flag is a desecration thereto"..What does your "church" do? Want a true picture of the American flag? Go to Title 4 US Code Section 1....... it's all there for you to see. Please note that the law mentions NOTHING of a gold fringe or gold tassel or cord. ONLY RED, WHITE AND BLUE. Want to go there? http://www.lawschool.cornell.edu/lawlibrary/ For AOL users, Click here . Cornell Law Library And while you are at it, you might review the nonexistent "law" that the fed is using to destroy this church..... For AOL users, Click Here 'The law that never was' http://www.worldnetdaily.com/bluesky_exnews/20000206_xex_the_law_that. shtml

In my opinion, it is long past the time that Amerika got off of the couch and on their feet and paid attention to the running of THEIR nation.............

Federal Judge to Destroy Church

by Dr. GREG DIXON Pastor emeritus Indianapolis Baptist Temple

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY RALLY March 4, 2000 at 10:00 am Indianapolis Baptist Temple 2711 south east street Entrance: 2700 Madison Ave. Us highway 31 (right behind k-mart)

Federal judge Sarah Evans Barker has made demands on the new testament church that they cannot meet without disobedience to God. Unless the 7th Circuit Court in Chicago grants an injunction, she will order our church property to be turned over to a receiver on April 10, 2000, to be sold.

Plan to take part in a noon religious liberty rally at the federal courthouse in downtown Indianapolis at Pennsylvania and Ohio streets.

A thousand are expected to participate. Be a part of history. Take this opportunity to stand up for God and country. You may never have this opportunity again!

Brother Lester Roloff said in 1979, "our church today-your church tomorrow." Tomorrow has come to Indianapolis Baptist Temple. Will you come and stand with us in our great hour of trial? For many years we have stood with others all over America. Now it's time for you to come and stand with us!

Re: US v Indianapolis Baptist Temple Cause # IP 98-0498-C- B/S

In the 50th anniversary year of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple, Sarah Evans Barker, Chief Judge, United States District Court, Southern District of Indiana, Indianapolis Division, signed an Entry MODIFYING TERMS OF STAY OF EXECUTION OF JUDGMENT PENDING APPEAL dated February 10 which reverses a previous agreement that she made with the church. She has made demands that the church cannot meet which, and unless changed, will result in the selling of the church property some time after April 10, 2000.

The church, through its Counsel, Albert F. Cunningham of Redding, California, plans to go immediately to the Seventh Circuit Court for Appeals in Chicago, Illinois to ask for an injunction against the court which, if successful, will result in the church remaining on its property at 2711 South East Street during the appeals process.

On November 10, 1999, Judge Barker signed a summary judgment order including foreclosure and sale of the property of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple. The judgment, including penalties interest and other additions, now totals approximately $6 million. The judgment is for alleged uncollected and unpaid 941 taxes on those who ministered at the church from 1987 to '93.

Judge Barker had accepted the Baptist Temple's position that the property should not be vacated pending appeal. She agreed that if the property should be sold the church would suffer irreparable harm even if it prevailed on appeal. She further agreed that the parents of the children in the church educational ministry would also be harmed because they would not be able to find suitable schools for their children after the semester had been in progress for several weeks.

However, she has now changed her order due to apparent pressure from the Clinton/Reno Justice Department, and has agreed with Federal Prosecutor Douglas Snoyenbos, that new demands should be made on the church. These include the filing of monthly detailed financial reports with the court, and the paying of 941 taxes on current ministers of the church into an interest bearing escrow account to be administered by the court.

This is a total contradiction of Judge Barker's original requests which included timely payments on the church mortgage, sufficient insurance on the buildings which includes the church parsonage, and the reasonable maintenance of the buildings. All of these were agreed to by the church congregation as reasonable and responsible.

Judge Barker reserved the right to modify her order if there were any changes. There have been no changes. She has not met the stipulations of her own order. These new demands plow new ground altogether pertaining to the Stay Order.

For the church to meet these new demands would be to violate their faith, which is the entire issue to begin with. It would also interdict the appeals process by forcing the church to pay the tax before its appeal has even been heard. It would also violate the First Amendment as to redress of grievances. In fact, if the Seventh Circuit refuses to give the injunction, there is no other appeal of this matter and it would force the church to obey their God or government.

In that the church cannot and will not obey this newest demand of Judge Sarah Evans Barker. She has said that she will order the receiver who has already been assigned to this case to seize and sell the property sometime after April 10th.

There will be a Religious Liberty Rally at the Indianapolis Baptist Temple Saturday, March 4, at 10:00 AM. The church expects many across the nation to come to stand with the pastors and congregation for this occasion.

At noon, the church and their supporters will gather in front of the Federal Court House at Pennsylvania & Ohio Streets to bring attention locally and nationally of the imminent death of religious liberty in America.

ANOTHER tragic month? Can you say hyperbole?

-- (nemesis@awol.com), February 29, 2000.

To nemesis@awol.com, Can you say Waco or Ruby Ridge?

-- DUH (WakeUp@once.sheeple), February 29, 2000.

Look for some law enforcement types that were active in Seattle-you know, the rubber gun(oh, I mean bullet)squad to be there in force.

-- morgan (bitbybit@eoni.com), February 29, 2000.

DUH,

Everyday there are tragedies; everyday there are miracles. I prefer to focus on the miracles. And you--tragedies? Whatever flips your skirt.

-- (nemesis@awol.com), February 29, 2000.

nemesis@awol.com,

If you're focusing on "miracles", why are you reading and participating in this forum? Miracles on this forum? ROTFLMAO! Who are you trying to impress?

I think good Scotsmen everywhere should start a flame war with nemesis...

So the illustious Pastor Dixon said "...that Janet Reno is actually Johnny Reno, that anyone can see that she is a man." Now why would a hateful, sexist, prejudiced statement like that upset anyone.

Exactly when did that fine Christian, Pastor Dixon, lift up Janet Reno's skirt and check her private parts, and thus declare her a man.

It doesn't matter whether you're a church, an animal shelter, a book sale, a benevolent society, or what. If you receive money, or goods, or free services, it is the law that you must obtain a 501c3. Otherwise everyone would be declaring all kinds of bogus enterprises as charitalbe projects and siphoning off money from the credulous, or foolish.

Lawdy, I am constantly amazed at the memory deficit in the general population. Am I in error or was Waco not in April?

Easy to be bored by other people's tragedies. Guess we can pretty much tell who's dealt with grief and loss around here. Also who might be concerned with Freedom of Religion, sort of one of those ole Contstitutional things that we just take for granted.

Yawn.

-- little wifey (littlewifey@home.com), February 29, 2000.

Little wifey, You are correct, Waco massacre was in April...so was the OKC bombing massacre...which BTW was not just that little Ryder truck and Timmy boy. The Feds had their hands in that too...Timmy was just another patsy. "nemesis" sounds like some "new age" polly that ignorantly chooses to focus only on the "positive" and turn their back on the fact that good people were massacred by ATF, FBI, Klinton, Reno etc. People who "say" they only want to focus on the "miracles" are cowards.

nemesis, if you want to focus on "miracles", the best place to do that would be out in Nature...not on a forum called "Time Bomb 2000" Give us a break!

gilda, Are you talking God's Laws or man's laws? Which one do you support?

-- Do You (WorkFor@The.Govt?), February 29, 2000.

"Don't Forget",

Lighten up, extreme cynacism causes zits.

-- (nemesis@awol.com), March 01, 2000.

Gilda, Thou art incorrect. the 501c3 regs are posted on another thread. You don't have to file you merely have to meet the tests.
