It looks like you shot slightly downward, which threw the (rush?) stalk and water droplet out of focus. I'd like to either see the whole stalk sharp, or cropped out to come in tighter on the damselfly.

The sharp view of the exquisite damselfly against the excellent soft background on a stem which passes from warm to cool colours just below the principal subject makes for a winner in my book. Well done!

NICE! Although John is probably right about your shooting angle, I like the result. You were parallel to the damselfly and kept it very sharp. You have a nice blown away green background that the main subject stands out against. Lastly, the stalk is an interesting "secondary subject" but having it only in sharp focus near the damselfly keeps it from competing as the main subject. Good work. I've spent long periods of time photographing these abundant critters and have never got an image nearly as nice as this. p.s. - nice vertical composition that would work great as a magazine cover
