Central CA paid 1.73 for middle grade fuel (plus) at Chevron today

-- Kenin Marble (Kenin17@yahoo.com), February 27, 2000.

I should have put the range here - Cheap in N Calif - $1.55 (was $1.33 for MONTHS) Chevron and others - $1.70 (was $1.48 for MONTHS).

-- Sheri (wncy2k@nccn.net), February 27, 2000.

Here in Central CT..the gas tax capital of the world...Mobil Regular runs 1.58 per gallon, while Shell Regular is 1.61 per gallon. Diesel is still 2.00 per at the only outlet here in town.

-- Irving (irvingf@myremarq.com), February 28, 2000.

In early Jan, low-octane (87) UL was ... $1.15?.. now it's $1.30.

Is that 10% increase?

This is Central Texas.

-- lisa (lisa@work.now), February 28, 2000.

Sheri, I paid $1.53 for 87 level in Santa Cruz County, CA at a cheap station this pm. Mainstream stations like Chevron or Shell are about 25 cents higher for the same grade. Here we go again. Our prices are usually the highest

The petrol in Sydney has hit 85 cents per litre. Last year it was hovering around 72-75 cents per litre. Thats about a 16% increase in the past 3 months. Media reports have said that it could reach $1 soon.

Sheri, don't know how you got that gas gauge in there, but it was cool! Paid $1.42 for unleaded regular yesterday, central Iowa.

-- suzy (suzy@nowhere.com), February 28, 2000.

$1.81/gallon for premium, here in Orange County, CA. (Mobil)

-- cin (cinlooo@aol.com), February 28, 2000.

$1.74 for regular - far northern CA.

-- marsh (armstrng@sisqtel.net), February 28, 2000.

Just returned from Santa Rosa, Calif.....the highest I noticed on the trip was $1.99 for high test....the lowest $1.57 for unleaded low....most in the dollar sixties....I think it is going to go higher, probably much higher....OpisAlert, Friday, indicated first allocation starting in California, more unplanned refinery down time....ouch, expensive!!

-- Queen of Hearts (alice@wonder.land), February 28, 2000.

Sheri, am totally diggin' that gas gauge. Quick, somebody give me a lesson on that!!

-- Daisy Jane (deeekstrand@access1.com), February 28, 2000.

In SW Oklahoma:

plain unleaded was about 1.12 at the first of the year. Now it is 1.39, mid grade is 1.49 and premium is 1.59. Diesel is 1.39; the highest I have ever seen it. Propane, "at the pump" for my pickup is 1.00 per gallon, but is .94 home delivered in bulk.

Regular (87 Octane) just went up from $1.34 to $1.47 last week in Northern AZ. It had been $1.29 for quite a while.

-- Flash (flash@flash.flash), February 28, 2000.

Sarasota Florida prices, Monday AM Feb 28,2000 lo-test 1.34-1.45 hi-test 1.51-1.67 diesel 1.45-1.59(interstate truckstops the lowest) last two weeks gas steady up, diesel goes up and down 5 cents

-- gasman (trucker@octane.com), February 28, 2000.

This gas gauge is an animated picture I found - there are websites with animations you can download. Then I just put it in the article here with html code. To see how to do it you go up to VIEW in your browser and then click on Page Source and it will tell you the code. Basically it has < in front and > at end and the codes is img src=" and then you put in the source of the picture (what webpage it is on or where in your server it is located)" and then those brackets before and after.

Marin County, CA

cheapest: $1.459/gal - 87 octane. cash only, self serve

Vallejo, CA $2.299 - hi test @ one of the majors, full serve

-- CA 4x4 (4x4@my.house), February 28, 2000.

Reno, NV... Yes, about ten days ago gas (87) was $1.33, now it is $1.51.

-- phoneman (bcrefrig@excelonline.com), February 28, 2000.

What gets me is that the media is reporting about gas prices going up so quickly, yet it reports that inflation rates are low.

-- Tim (pixmo@pixelquest.com), February 28, 2000.

Sheri..

I looked at that web site. Where do you find animated gifs other than the fuel guage there?

-- Opus (Opus@bloomcounty.net), February 28, 2000.

Here in west central NC I paid 1.32 for 87 octane (reg unleaded) yesterday at a BP. Several off brands were also at this price. Most name brands were at 1.37 yesterday. I saw some at 1.39 this morning in another part of town. 10 cents more for 89 octane and another 10 cents more for 92 and 93 octane. Diesel running about the price of 89 octane at most stations.

My apologies for the double post. I got an error message on the first attempt so I posted again.

Hi Opus - What website are you talking about? If you looked at the page source and found the URL for the gif, that is where it is at my server, not the website where I found it. Don't remember where I found it. You can go to search engines and type in 'animated gifs' and a lot of websites will come up. If you want to save the fuel gauge, just click on right button on mouse (if using PC) and click on 'save image as'.

-- Sheri (wncy2k@nccn.net), February 28, 2000.

-- Taz (Tassie123@aol.com), February 28, 2000.

-- e (e@e.e), February 28, 2000.

$1.45 for El Cheapo regular in Riverside, CA. Up 14 cents in 2 weeks.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), February 28, 2000.

Filled up in Santa Rosa CA today....cheapest 87 octane I saw was $1.53, the majors were $1.65+....Not ready to tap into stored fuel drums yet. It isn't the price I'm really concerned with it's availability.
