It would be rather rude, even for me. To ignor your post. But, none the less there are times, that even an old fellow like me has to be away from the internet.

Already, I know for an almost certainty that I shall be gone for several days after the 1st of March.

But today, I went out, way out in the Texas range land to help a friend with one of those date sensitive control problems that ARE NOT happening.

I can only say that DD1 is right about what is going on way out here in the Periman Basin.

Never the less... I shall indeed finish the Game...But right now, it would appear that "they" are winning. And if/ when gasoline goes to 2.00 a gallon for unleaded. Grab your britches ladies and gentlemen. The Game will be finished shortly afterwards.

In essence sir. There are many, many flow and pressure meters on pipelines. And in some places a flow/amount must be registered. And the date it occured.

Now in Texas, you have about a zillion "little guys" who have pipe lines leading from their oil feilds to a main pipe line. They have to know on both sides of the valve connection ( tie in to the main line); 1st how much was put in. And 2nd when it was put in...In order to get credit at the other end for their product.

And thusly, you have a nice mismash of differing (PLC-PROM-ROM) controls( and the meters, monitors etc. feeding them information). And all of them have to tell the same story. Pressure monitors are a touchy matter all to themselves-too much pressure! And you can blow out a flange (a joint between two pipes.) This is usually found at a pump station ( the actual pipe line it's self should/ is welded. And covered up in it's ditch.

Shakey: I have read most of your posts for the past several months. I have some questions about some of the information you are presenting here:

1) Are you suggesting that there are date-change (Y2k) problems occurring that are causing an interruption in the delivery of oil?

2) If so, exactly how are these problems occurring? Why are they surfacing now, several weeks after the rollover?

The reason I ask is two-fold: First, as an engineer who worked on Y2k testing and remediation for the power industry, I've discussed in person and seen several presentations on Y2k and its effect upon the delivery of oil. Every single person within the oil industry with Y2k testing experience said that there was not a single Y2k-caused failure that interrupted oil production or delivery. The second reason I ask is this: Based upon your claims of experience in working as an electrician in the power industry, you expected to see numerous failures at power plants. Not a single power plant tripped off line during the rollover. Since you were way off base with the power industry, where you had experience, why should we believe what you say about oil? Thanks in advance for responding....

I do believe that I made statements concerning the embedded systems in power generation. I also said that we would have trouble over a long period of time (with the embedded systems.). And I said also that the roll over was not the most serious time frame. In fact, now untill about Augest is what I have always considered to be the major time frame ( and I have said as much).

I don't think I am harming anyone by offering my ideas on this forum, no matter how "idiotic" they may seem to the narrow-minded. Ra claims that this is grounds for him to ridicule me???

His motives are clearly antagonistic, and I would like to request that he be permanently banned form this forum. BTW, there are many others besides myself that have found his responses very rude and inflammatory. Im confident when I state that many regulars on this forum are fed-up with Hawks foul mouth and goofy takes. Sifting is the other one that definitely needs to go. If he isn't the same person as Ra they are definitely working as a team. They have attacked many others with their rude comments, including Shakey, Instant, and many regular posters. If I was ever rude to them, it was only in response to the fact that they ridiculed me first with their offensive comments. As seen above in Ra's post, they feel they are entitled to ridicule others simply because theri ideas are, in their opinion, "slanted" or "goofy." That is no basis for insulting someone, and I think most regulars on this forum will agree.
