Age - 33

Education - High School Grad, a year of college.

I also attended the School of Life(took care of invalid father; read his entire library while caring for him. He was triple degreed in Chemistry, Russian, and Mathmatics; a couple of universities for him, Westpoint grad to boot. I read all of his papers and books back to him, and I understood most of it; guess you could say I had the ultimate liberal education), and read everything I get my hands on. Library trips weekly.

I hope this helps. I've missed you, hamster! Keep on runnin' in the wheel!

Peace,

LL, shame on you for impersonating a hamster! Have to admire your confession, 'specially when you easily could have not said a word.

Unfortunately, now we have to wonder if it's really you, LL, or someone else. Guess it's a gamble we all take when doing time on the 'net.

Either way, I like these polls. I particularly like that nearly everyone includes their practical education, many placing higher value on that then on their 'formal' ed. Nothing like being out of school a few years to teach you what you didn't learn. So much money for so little so much of the time...

Me, I'll be 40 in a few months (how did that happen?) Got a BS in Anthropology about 20 years ago (go try to get a job with that!) I rather think anthropology should be a required subject, really got me to thinking about the world from a different point of view. Never knew how narrow-minded I was until Anthro 101. Sadly, by the time I graduated, I realized that most of the 'professionals' in the field had gone back to tunnel vision.

Anyway, been livin' & learnin' since then. Some lessons I had to do over a few times before they sank in. Divorce was an education in human nature all by itself. Then there was that short stint in the military, and all those years as a (gasp!) civil servant. Motherhood was & is my greatest achievement to date... including of course, the raising bit. So far so good.

Learned more in the last 20 months from this forum than most people I know have forgotten. Don't mean to sound self-congratulatory, mean it in praise of you all and all the knowledge & wisdom I've found here. If we could package it and make it required reading for our high schoolers, the world could be a better place.

I'll shut up now. I didn't know I'd cut back so much on caffiene! The 2 cups of coffee I drank this morning have me buzzing!!!

-- Nadine Zint (nadine@hillsboro.net), February 27, 2000.

Hamster, a respected regular poster on this forum, said her goodbyes a few months ago, I believe. That LL would impersonate a trusted name is all too typical. What is more insidious is why.

For those who are newer to this forum, a search of the archives will show that this question of age/education has been asked and answered several times, as LL no doubt is aware. (By the way, previous forum polls have shown that this forum has unusual demographics---by far, a higher percentage of over-40's and college education than the average internet bulletin board system would be expected to have.) Anyway, speculation as to why the Hamster impersonation and bonafides question at this time: We have a lot of "newbies" since this question was last asked. LL, in her obsessive, twisted quest to "out" members of this forum has intruded on people's real lives in attempts to cause them personal harm. This has included, among other things, efforts to contact employers, and others on whom a poster's livelihood may depend. Please, good folks, heed Tom Carey's warning about posting personal information.

-- (TrollPatrol@sheesh.now), February 27, 2000.

Earlier up in this thread, someone suggested that the posters represented a good number of people in the medical profession. Reading between the lines would also guess that there are a fair number of law enforcement people here, legal professionals, active military, mental health professionals, and some gub employees.

My answer to her:

Being dishonest for using different handles makes you sick to your stomach but calling people foul names doesn't? You are one sick puppy. TB2000 probably will become password protected and CPR warned you to leave because this place will become password protected. You have no credibility (never did) anywhere on the internet. Your only knowledge is your ability to disrupt and to show how mentally ill you are. Your own peers told you to get lost, here's a reminder from CPR:

DON"T RUIN THIS FORUM ANYMORE. POST WHAT YOU WANT TO CHERRI's PRIVATE FORUM WHERE STUPID POST **WILL BE DELETED** NO MATTER WHO POSTS THEM.

Don't waste space here. This place stays up to remind everyone the NORTH was a FOOL and A FAKE in Y2k for MONEY!!

THIS IS THE PLACE THAT STARTED ALL THE EXPOSURE OF NORTH AND THE REST OF THEM.

OTHERWISE, Paul will shut this off to PASSWORD ONLY. PERIOD.

Where ever you go they are going to hassle you because to the Doom Zombies you are a TRAITOR.

ITs Deliberate on their part because they can't stand the exposure.

BUT.......you are killing the boards you post on and .....no one will listen to you anymore.

So DO IT BY EMAIL PRIVATELY.

THAT WAY....THEY WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON OR WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THEM WHEN THEY ARE FINALLY ALL *EXPOSED* FOR THE SILLY PEOPLE THEY ARE.

Beside, NO ONE IS LEFT ON EY's pit now. They went to HUMP the DUMB II and you have to sign in there to post.

Spamming, Handles, and TimeBomb Members...

Forum: Gary North is a Big Fat Idiot Forum Date: Feb 27, 09:52 From: laura

Hi Dirt Road,

I had to start a new thread because I didn't want this to get buried as a message.

Thanks for the kind words, your timing couldn't have been better. You've just given me the opportunity to say a few things I've been wanting to say for a long time.

Spamming:

I don't want to spam!

As you already know, if I were allowed to post like any other poster, I wouldnt do it.

What the sysops dont seem to realize is, if they would let me post, I would get tired of it, and get on with my life. They could even delete my posts after a week or so, I wouldnt care. If they took the ban off for just one week, Id be happy! All I want is the opportunity to counter some negative things I see going n next door. Im just one voice, it doesnt seem like I should be all that threatening to them.

Handles:

I suspect one of these days Im going to get caught using one of my anonymous handles, so Id like to address that issue right now. It ties in so well with censorship.

Id like to state up front that I am NOT cinloo, or whoever that other person Netghost and Cherri/EyeSpy thinks I am.

If I put my name, or my flower on my posts I am, of course, deleted within minutes. If I chose a nondescript handle, I can stay up sometimes for 12 to 24 hours. Last night I discovered that if I pick a familiar name and ask a question no one takes offense to, I can stay up (well see for how long though).

I dont like doing these things Dirt Road, honest I dont. Dishonesty makes me sick to my stomach. However, I have resorted to doing something sneaky to extract the information I want. P>

TimeBomb Members:

For the record, the injustices I want to address are double standards, shills at the forum, and on occasion; FUD. Personally, I dont care if people want to discuss MD-80s, or oil, or whatever, to see if it is y2k related or not. I figure theyll figure it out sooner or later, and I dont have a problem with that. Furthermore, I think I LIKE most of the people over there - and here - and once Ive made my apologies, I can leave, download all the archives, and get one with my life.

Unfortunately, I sure Im not ever going to have the opportunity to finish this up. I suspect TimeBomb will go to a password protected site because of my spamming and then people who do participate in that forum with have a daily feeding of pablum --- and theres nothing I can do about that. I wont even be able to spam to counteract what ticks me off for the half hour of attention that I get with spam now.

While Im thinking about it, Id like to just touch on something Ive noticed for a long time now. Have you noticed (for the most part) people tend to post to a response that they disagree with, but when they agree they pretty much stay silent? Id bet money that there were people yesterday who agreed with me that Greg Canton was trying to sell his products but just didnt say anything. It seems to me, there are people who recognize this phenomena is happening, but dont have the time to say something about it. (I cant be the only one that is noticing this, but maybe Im the only one who cares? Maybe Im missing something.)

Anyway, Im in a hurry and have to take off. Im having brunch with a girlfriend I havent seen in four months. She thinks I went y2 k-r-a-z-y and shes right. She told me a year ago y2k would be a .02 and she demonstrated that belief by spending the rollover on a Russian icebreaker in the Antarctic. (Guess whos having crow for brunch?)

Laura

2. Response by EyeSpy, Feb 27, 12:41 1. For the record (in case it's deleted). by laura, Feb 27, 10:46 -------------------- She confesses that she's a liar, so why believe anything she has to say? I still believe she is cinloo.

-- EyeSpy (EyeSpy@eyespyyy.xcom), February 27, 2000.

It figures. I thought she was just a little nuts, but now I know she really is sick.

Maybe she should get together with Stephen M. Poole, CET, since they seem to think alike.

Casper: "...let her have her DOS attacks, then spend 5 minutes cleaning up her mess..."

One of the garbage handlers here spent an hour and a half Saturday deleting over 200 automated postings from this same person. Do not think that this is a fun way to spend free time.

What I would like to know, based on the copy of LL's own admission above, is this: Just exactly WHAT INFORMATION does she want? She says she "extracts the information she wants..." Namely?

Noted this posting, Mike egged me on to comment. TB 2000 is a hot item. Lots of people currently interested in posters and postings. Don't sweat it. See a pattern so far? I sure do, and I'm a relative newcomer. No one who would post here is anyone to fool around with. Not too many people coming here who aren't forewarned, forearmed and perfectly capable of throwing a curve into the data base. That's why the Founding Fathers are so persnickity about backing up postings. Kind of fun, isn't it? There's all kinds of action going on beneath the information dissemination. That's the thing that's bringing us back. Like the kiddies and their on line games. This is just up several levels. Grown up stuff (in most cases, anyway). And by the way, because of the Founding Fathers' insistence on documentation this is the premiere news resource on the Net.

Ok, now I feel my short answers above were inadequate. My MBA (Master of Business Administration) is in accounting and my MS (Master of Science) is in botany. Oh, I know what you're thinking... Sure they're related! Now I can count plants!

Outside of my formal education I've studied philosophy, theology, the New Testament (yeah, I'm Jewish -- it's just fascinated me), economics, psychology, wild edible plants, and a bunch of other stuff.

And I was born in Detroit; lived there 'till I was about 13. I would have gone to Mumford High School if we hadn't moved to the 'burbs in mid-'65. (Eddie Murphy wore a Mumford High School Phys. Ed. T-shirt in Beverly Hills Cop).

So, my claim to fame is that I almost went to a school whose t-shirt was worn by an actor. Cool, huh?

(I can't believe I even said this much...my paranoia must be letting up some...)

33, and still having nightmares where I somehow missed some math hours in high school, which totally cancels out my business education at UT, and find myself back in high school at 33.

Considering going back for some actuarial courses, since my company'll pay for it.

True.... why not just let her get it out of her system..... then spend 5 minutes deleting her.. it's not like deleting 5 of her messages is going to stop her... let her quit, then do her in 5 minutes.... worked in in BIFFY :-)

I WAS enjoying this really cool thread when all of a sudden the EBS (eyespye broadcasting system) interrupts and ruins it. Very sad.

The results from 71 posters:
Average age - 48.63 years
Average years of higher education - 2.83 years
Total years of higher education - 201 years

This is using the assumption that one takes
4 years for a BS and 5 for an MS and 6 for
two BS'.

high school + 4 years of college (enough hours, just couldn't decide which subject) + YMCA ropes course instructor + helped hubby study through med school + now homeschooling 2 kids + enough critters to satisfy "Elly Mae" and a big garden that keeps growing bigger every year. Life is good, although I was happier before I knew "the real world".

spider,

Do you think that younger, less educated people are too intimated to post their information?
