Sheesh! This is newsworthy?
Scientists had already pointed to "cow fart" as a source of global warming. Does burning wood cause it too?
How about rotting wood?

this is pretty humorous. are we talking the "jet trails" we know as "contrails"? yet they don't exist?

Jet trails ( aka contrails or better yet CHEMTRAILS) don't REALLY exist , but if they did exist then they are not responisble for global warming!

Look gang, it really isn't rocket science here.

Since WWII we have been puttering around up in the Stratosphere using jet engines in ever increasing numbers. They don't burn a whole cleaner than your old ugly a** Yugo does. We are dumping unburned hydrocarbons up there at one h*ll of a rate.

I personally have logged over 5600 hours at such silliness, in my first real job, plus God only knows how many more hours in assorted and sundry other types/models of skybirds. And I am but one of the many.

Daily we fly, what? 15-16,000 flights somewhere around this old rock?

Most birds have at least 2 of those smokers hanging out there, and the vast preponderance of those birds climb up to the stratosphere like a homesick angel and spend considerable time up there, getting from h'yar to thar.

Just exactly what the total overall effect that all of this will be is the great unknown for now, but do you really think that you can continue to dump such crap up there without having some changes occur?

Consider, if you will, just the CO2 factor alone.

That MUST increase the cloud layer/heat retention effect in and of itself, and to the exclusion of all of the other gasses inclusive of the jet exhaust.

And jet exhaust is, in itself, but one of several different additives that we are dumping into the air of our little Blue Marble.

Just as we cannot continue to foul the oceans with our wastes, nor our water supply with the pesticides, we cannot continue to pump out unburned hydrocarbons in such huge quantities as we are now doing.

Particularly in the upper stratosphere, since from there we don't have the luxury of time on our side, since it is a short trip to the ozone from there.

We are screwing ourselves away from a place at the table, and we had best get busy looking for the answers to such things as this or we too will become extinct.

Even a DA like myself can see this one coming.

S.O.B.

Article from the Greening Earth Society: http://www.greeningearthsociety.org/Articles/2000/treering.htm A study of tree rings of the Huon Pine enabling 3,600 years of estimated summer temperatures in Tasmania shows no support for the greenhouse global warming theory
