Gore Still Dodging Rapegate Question

When will Vice President Al Gore answer the question that sent him reeling towards the ropes last December, when 29 year-old housewife Katherine Prudhomme asked him about his boss' alleged rape of Juanita Broaddrick during a New Hampshire town meeting?

NewsMax.com contacted Gore's Tennessee campaign headquaters on Wednesday to find out if the Veep has yet viewed the videotape RNC Chairman Jim Nicholson sent him, where Broaddrick described a vicious sexual attack by the man Gore continues to praise as "good and decent."

It was exactly one year ago today that NBC News broadcast reporter Lisa Myers' riveting interview with the Clinton rape accuser to a national television audience. According to polls taken afterwards, two thirds of Americans who viewed Broaddrick's account of a rabid Clinton forcing himself on her, ripping her clothing and then biting her lip until she could no longer resist, believe that Gore's boss is a rapist.

The Derry, NH housewife visibly rattled the Veep with her Rapegate query, a subject the mainstream press won't go near for fear of hurting Gore's chances. But the Prudhomme-Gore confrontation was a campaign Kodak moment, with the Veep hemming and hawing as his political life flashed before his eyes.

PRUDHOMME: When Juanita Broaddrick made the claim, that I felt quite credible, that she was raped by Bill Clinton, did that change your opinion about him being one of the best presidents in history? And do you believe Juanita Broaddrick's claim? And what did you tell your son about this?

GORE: [Laughs] Well, I don't know what to make of her claim, because I don't know how to evaluate that story, I really don't.

PRUDHOMME: Did you watch it?

GORE: No, I didn't see the interview. No.

PRUDHOMME: I'm surprised that you didn't watch the interview.

GORE: Well, which ... what show was it on?

PRUDHOMME: ABC, I believe.

GORE: I didn't see it. There have been so many personal allegations and such a nonstop series of attacks. I guess I'm like a lot of people in that I think that enough is enough. I do not know how to evaluate each one of these individual stories. I just don't know.

Upon hearing Gore's claim that he hadn't seen Broaddrick's interview, Republican Chairman Nicholson decided to help out. Appearing on the Fox News Channel just three days later, he waived a videotape copy of the NBC broadcast and said he was sending it to Gore the next day.

That was two months ago.

On Wednesday a staffer in Gore's Tennessee press office took careful notes as NewsMax.com explained the situation. She promised someone would get back to us with a response to Broaddrick's charges.

We're still waiting. So is Katherine Prudhomme -- along with the two thirds of Americans who wonder how Gore can continue to stand by a man they believe is a rapist.

Answers

Markus, I do believe you must be a Bush campaign paid employee.

-- Very (Grateful@Still.here), February 24, 2000.

Very, actually I plan to vote for Keyes in my state's primary. I'm just very bothered by media hypocrisy, and if pointing it out makes me sound pro-Bush, conclude what you will.

Very<

Then what does that make Vern? McCain's campaign manager?

-- J (Y2J@home.comm), February 24, 2000.

Markus, I can never get out of my memory the news of the day that Pres. Clinton was impeached. Algore was on vacation in Hawaii, and when asked what he thought about the day's events, he said "I admire President Clinton very much".

Algore has been a solid team member of the Clinton's all along the way, they are cut from the same fabric, folks.

I don't know who I will vote for this fall, but it won't be algore.

Markus, so glad to hear you are going to vote for Keyes. Me too.

Don't you Folks have any better Way to waste Your 3 Dollar@Gallon Gas,than to drive to polling place and Vote for ANY of them Cripples??

-- N O T A (nix@nope.none), February 24, 2000.

I am sure Adolph got away with raping about anyone he wanted to also. Because the press dotes on the Klintons and Gores, when these few stories that they can't suppress come out, you can bet they are true and worse.

Why, you hypocrit republicans!!! Peeping toms!!!! holier than thou liars!! You all belong on Husler magazine staff!!!!

Al Gore is a decent man and a hard working honest environmentalist. You pseudo Christians are more interested in finding out who slept with whom than feeding the millions of hungry American children.

Clinton did a lot less skirt chasing than Jefferson or Kennedy. Study your history you prurient, lusty, shameless pimps.

"Why, you hypocrit (sic) republicans!!! Peeping toms!!!! holier than thou liars!! You all belong on Husler (sic) magazine staff!!!! ...Study your history you prurient, lusty, shameless pimps"

It's good to have open-minded liberals around to reinforce their ideals of toleration and diversity when narrow-minded conservatives start to suppress opposing viewpoints.

It never was about sex - it was about perjury in a sexual harrassment lawsuit. And you - and those like you who equally hate and fear religion - deliberately let him get away with it. Kennedy never lied in front of a judge and jury, then conspired with his staff and cabinet to cover up and impede resulting investigation.

The remaining corruption and absolute bribery and injustive, abuse of powers in this administration are without compare:

1000 FBI files (Clinton) to 1 (Nixon).

Actual harrassment and intimidation of employees? Clinton.

Actual IRS and FBI investigations. audits, and seizures, arrests by the Secret Service, abuse of the National Parks authority? All Clinton. Only Clinton-Gore.

Discussing IRS audits? Nixon. Once.

Creating an enemies database? Clintons-Gore. Using foreign money, then changing foreign affairs to protect his clients? Only Clinton-Gore.

Attacking foreign countries to coverup and disrupt domestic investigations? Only Clintons-Gore.

Demanding payoffs to do government actions? Clintons-Gore.

Thus corrupting (perhaps irretrivably) justice and the equal protection of the law in the US.

---...---...---

Or are you forgetting that "popularlity" polls would have condemned the blacks to another 100 years of slavery and prejudice, despite what the laws demanded?

---...---

Gore? What has he done for the environment? Beside lie? Besides having a paid staff write a book destroying capitalism and promoting socialism and the restriction of free enterprise? What has he done for children - beside lie? What has he (and the Clintons) actually done - besides lie about their achievements?

What has he done about the criminally destructive pollution in the communist countries and thrid world countries he so admires? US is the cleanist, most productive - yet he choses to criticize the only economy that does work.
