I'm choosing a Speedlite for my EOS5 (European equivalent of A2E). As it doesn't have an E-TTL mode (just A-TTL), at first I thought of getting a 540EZ. Though some people say that 550EX has both E-TTL AND A-TTL. Who's right?

Another question, does A-TTL mode have a preflash?

only the second part of the question i can answer. I believe that the camera and flash only do a preflash in full auto mode or pic mode.... hope this helps.
